22 oz. bottle, pours a mostly clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is very authentically German, with toasted caramel malt and crackers. Flavour is very malty, with toasted caramel malts, lager yeast and syrup. Very rich and full-bodied, surprisingly so for a 5% lager. Really great stuff.

Bottle. Pours with a hazed orange hued body with a medium white head that fades. Aromas are bready, grainy, toasty, medium floral hop, grassy, freshly baked biscuits. Clean fermentation characteristics. Flavors are bready, toasty, pils like malt character. Light, but balanced bitterness. Very clean, malty and well rounded. A bit low/lacking carbonation, medium bodied, crisp.

Pale amber pour - creamy tight white head. Really fresh bready aroma and some nice fresh herbal hoppiness. Great bready flavour with a lightly dusty yeastiness. Creamy palate and a little bit of herbal flavour. Soft and well-balanced. Solid stuff. Looking forward to trying more of their lagers.

Bomber served in a lager glass. Pours slightly hazy burnt orange with a medium sized sandy top. Good retention and great lace. Nice aroma of fresh toasted grains with fruit and spices behind. Light-med sweet malty flavor. Medium body, med-thick creamy texture, soft carbonation, with crisp hops and more grain on the finish. Another great beer from Heater Allen. RIP BOB.

Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured mildly clear amber/reddish with a nice forming, eggy, light beige head. Definitely one of the better American examples of the style. Often times I find Amercan Oktoberfest beers to be buttery, bready, and popcorn like. This one hit the spot. Clean with some green earthiness and biscuity malt tones. Finished short and refreshing.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 brewolf (167) - Wilderness, WA, USA, - MAR 29, 2012
Translucent ruddy bronze with a fluffy eggshell head that lasts. Fresh-baked cookie dough, pecan-like honey sweetness, and herbal tea leaves in the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet, showing hearty brown bread and toasted seeds. Medium body, active but smooth carb, and dries out with a mellow herbal/grassy hop bite in the finish. Very well balanced, and one of my favorite Oktoberfest brews.

Love the simple label and the name. Plus this is a hell of a beer. Malty with a dab of sweetness. Then some orange and grain notes and a touch of hop bite. Really tremendous.

Shared tasting with Strykzone vis Facebook Chat.. Got this one at Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. It poured a clear amber with with good sized yellow tinged off-white head and quite decent lacing. Very attractive. The nose was malty with ripe fruit, and floral hops. Medium body and mouthfeel as smooth as you can make it. Like velvet. The flavor is more malt than hops, but the balance seems perfect. There is some spice in the finish. This is about as good as an Oktoberfest can get. This small brewer really know how to make world class lagers.

22 oz. bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. I rolled my bottle and it poured very hazy tea color. A nice thick one finger layer of orange hued foam and lots of bubbles floating up to supplant it. The aroma was nice. It had spices, fruit, malt, and is subtle. The flavor featured all of those. The fruit came from some softer hops and reminded me of what is often found in Pale Ales. Apples were also tasted. The spices were nice. The malt was the backbone. This is as good as any Oktoberfest I have had. Thanks Ron!
