Our version of an Oktoberfest-style beer. We named this beer for Rick’s late brother Bob; the person who sparked his interest in brewing lager beers in general and Oktoberfest beers in particular. Bright amber color. Rich, malty, and smooth, with a just touch of clean hop bitterness. If you can’t make it to Munich this fall, this beer is the next best thing. Bobtoberfest is released in September. (1.015 BG, 5.40%, 22 IBU, 9 SRM)

Bottle, from notes. Pours crystal clear burnished copper; white head, small bubbles. Aroma of marzen: caramel, toast, biscuit, some fruit and toffee. Taste: clean, crisp. Despite malt-driven marzen flavors, not particularly sweet. Quite dry, with a short lightly bitter finish. Medium body, light texture, good carbonation. Overall: great!

Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours orange gold with a large beige head. Aroma of malt, yeast and arguably noble hops. Med body or nearly. Flavor is lifgt roast malt and definitely noble hop. finishes a bit off dry, but it’s clean, and all the flavors stand out nicely.

Bomber, cheers Bob! Pours a shiny amber with substantial white head. Complex nose with rich malts -- caramel, almost a touch of chocolate, light smoke, fresh bread. Taste is balanced with mild bitterness, sweet malt quality that dries out cleanly, a bit of hops. Drink pretty full-bodied for the ABV and leaves a long-lasting impression of the elegant, well-crafted brew it is. Needless to say, I’m a fan.

22 oz bottle bought from "Capital Market" in Salem OR $5.29 Pours a dark copper colour with a large cream coloured thick and frothy head. Fine creamy caramel malt aromas..Toffee and Orkney Fudge..malty and good. Smooth easy taste.. caramel malts and a touch of grassy hop but its so smooth., there is a little rauch in the back but it helps balance the maltiness. Good thick yet easily swallowed palate.. Very nice Oktoberfest..i could drink this by the litre

Bottle, bottled on 09/25/2014. Pours clear deep orange, medium creamy off-white head, dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice residual and nice lacing. Aroma is light grain, bready malts, a bit of caramel. Flavor is light plus sweet, light bitter, malty and a bit grassy, some floral tea, a bit of acidity. Medium body, high carbonation. Solid representation of a style that is generally not my thing.

popery (1741) - San Francisco, California, USA - SEP 30, 2014
The beer is bright amber. A warm, inviting glass. Fairly cloudy and glowy in the light. Medium head of off-white foam. Decent retention and lacing. The aroma is fruit malt on top of a solid caramel base. Mild grapes, raisins, honey, light herbal note. Mildly sweet with mild hop bitterness. Very clean and clearly well made. Easy to drink. Light, creamy mouthfeel. Another really nice beer from Heater Allen.
