COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our take of the renowned Bohemian-style pale lager that you might find in Bavaria or the Czech Republic. Ours is a little more golden, rounder, and a little more malt driven than many other versions. The beer possesses strong hop character that is balanced by its rich, round, malty palate. Refreshing and balanced, this beer is a favorite of our winery friends during harvest. (1.014 BG, 5.0%, 38 IBU, 4 SRM)

Hazy blonde, nice thick head, has a herbal, fruity, sweet, richly malty, only subtle herbal hops, just fat malt. More a helles, but a good one. Bit yeasty, too, so I guess more of an U Bier.

On tap @ Mikkeller San Francisco. Clear orange pour with a dense white head. A whole lot of bready malts and biscuit on the nose. Some grassy hops, fresh flowers, and a bit of lemon peel. Maybe some orange zest to it as well as some sweet fruity esters. Good biscuit and toasted bready malts. A lot of apricot, orange, and grass. Rather bitter and floral. Kind of spicy as well. Nice earthy hops. Pretty nice.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours gold with a foamy white head. Aroma seems grassy/bready, but not light like so many. Med body. Flavor is bready, but so hoppy it suggests an Imperial Pils. As ever, hops save the day.

A blonde pils with a thin white head. In aroma, light grassy malt with mineral notes. In mouth, a smooth classic pils with bitter German hops, mineral notes. Bottle at OBF Fringe Fest Belmont Station, July 30 2011.

For a pils this is damn good. Hazy yellow pour. Light head. Floral hops, honey, yeast, and light fruitiness in the aroma. Flavor is really well balanced between hops, yeast, dryness, fruitiness and a nice level of carbonation. Very good beer.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2013 Bottle @ Brandon’s, courtesy of B. Huge thanks! Clear, golden, orangish appearance with a white head. Very clean, crisp, pale pils malty, grassy hoppy aroma. Big straw, grass, sort of chalky, grainy pils malty, very clean flavor. Wow, what an excellent brew! Update: tasted four bottles from various stores in Portland and while some have a bit of an eggy/sulfur quality, when you get a good bottle, it’s a thing of beauty. FUCK YEAH.

651mL thanks to 3fourths. Blind tasted with top pilsners. Scored 3rd out of 8 beat by Victory Prima Pils and Victory Braumeister Pils. Pour is clear, light gold. Webby white lace. Nose is fresh apricot, white peach, sugary pineapple, marzipan. Taste is rich grain, biscuit, honey, apricot, pineapple, raw grainy, oatmeal. Palate is oily, rich, soft. Yum. 22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a medium foamy white head. Aroma is grassy, with grains, hay, and some dry hoppy notes. Flavour is very mellow and refreshing, with grass, grainy malt and some light hop notes. Subtle, restrained and perfectly well-balanced. Great thirst-quenching pilsner.
