4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
2014 batch. I haven’t had a new Baltic Porter in years, so I am looking forward to the first taste. It’s very good, rich, dark, heavy, clean tasting, with none of that funkiness you get from the Polish bottles. It must be the Oregon water.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Berkeley Bowl West. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a chewy dark molasses flavor that is a little smoky with a thick slightly bitter finish. Very tasty but a lttle light on the body.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours brown with a slight tan head. Aroma of dark fruit and dark malt. Not a very sweet aroma. Med + body. Flavor is dark fruit and dark malt. Maybe a hint of smoke and or coffee. Nice drink, but it might be fun as an imperial.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The beer is coffee black. Dark brown at the edges. Smallish tan head. Dissipates to a film of bubbles after a couple minutes. Some lacing. The aroma is cocoa powder, caramel/toffee and some dark fruity flavors. There’s a pleasant nutty character with mild spice. Roast is quite mild. The taste starts sweet with rich toffee-ish maltiness. Milder chocolate than in the aroma. More fruitiness - apples, grapes. The beer is nice and clean and stays well away from cloying territory. Mild roast acidity and a touch of hop bitterness in the finish cuts off the sugary flavors. Smooth and full. Lots of flavor for the abv with well-hidden booze. Very well made. Heater Allen is an excellent brewery.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 oz. bottle. It pours a dark brown color with a small light tan head. The aroma is sweet caramel apple, plum, cocoa powder and roasted malt. The flavor is more fruity with rich figgy raisin bread, black cherry cola, hints of roasted malt and black currant-like bitterness in the finish. Mildly acidic with lower than normal carbonation and a medium body. After finishing the bottle, I was glad this was on the lower end of the ABV spectrum. Pretty tasty and very drinkable.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 oz bomber from "Lifesource" Salem OR
Very dark brown beer..almost black in the center of the glass. Head is huge and creamy light tan coloured.
Great malty/nutty/cream aromas..also getting some of that Lindt Dark chocolate and sea salt thing.
Taste is very similar to the aroma but the Dark chocolate/sea salt aspect is greater..which i like.’
Really good mouth feel this is a heavy beer but the palate was light, smooth, silky but never watery.
Very nice Baltic..will have again.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown hue; handsome tan beads of lace adorn my glass.
Aroma is right on: roasty as hell, malty in yo face, smells dry. But a bit too dry on the palate; taste fades into desert-like dryness before I can sufficiently enjoy it. Tasty.
