bottle - this brew has a mild aroma with notes of caramel and pine. The taste is of very sweet malt with some pine presence obvious. It’s medium bodied and certainly different. I’d call it overly sweet but it’s drinkable and kudos for the effort at a very old style of brewing.

330ml bottle pours a cloudy amber color with a 2 finger white head that settles quickly and leaves only a few spots of lacing. Aroma is pine and sweet malts. Taste is pine bitterness with a malty sweetness with hints of alcohol. Medium to heavy body and little to no carbonation. A very interesting heavy ale which is a slow sipper.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DSG (3004) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - MAR 25, 2012
Bottle sample at a spring beers tasting at Norma Jean. Clear amber with a beige head. Sweet malty aroma with caramel, some bubblegum and a bit of herbal notes. Sweet malty flavor with some honey, caramel, some fruitiness and a strange herbal spiciness that’s getting stronger towards the drier finish. Medium-bodied. Quite OK.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 kerenmk (414) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - MAR 24, 2012
Bottle sample at a spring tasting courtesy of beerandbeyond. Pours hazy reddish amber with a white head. Nose: moss, mold and some bubblegum. Mouth: weird bitterness and jellybeans. Funky finish, medium body and soft carbonation. Good for ticking, but wouldn’t drink it again.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 solidfunk (660) - Ontario, CANADA - FEB 24, 2012
Strong pine smell but the tree is tapered down in the taste, which is probably a good thing. A little bitter in there and some tangy aftertaste (molasses?) Bottle from giftpack.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 Bricks (347) - Delaware, USA - FEB 18, 2012
Effervescent brown pour with a slightly off-white head. Smells maltier and sweeter than expected, something like a stiff barley wine. Wow, what an interesting taste and palate. It’s like half barley / half Belgian Strong Ale. Just the right amount of carbonation. Not very complex, but better and different than I expected. Great one.
