Another very good offering from Heather Ales. I was a bit nervous about trying a beer made from elderberries (I don’t like fruity beers), but this turned out to be very good. No heavy fruit flavors. Just a nice pleasant full flavored ale.

Botella de 330ml. Vaso de Pinta. Saboreada en dic´11. Color caoba oscuro, tintes rubi a contraluz. Capa que se disipa con rapidez. Notas de bosque y chocolate en nariz. Entrada de malta tostada y matices de café. Paladar suave y amargor bajo. Cuerpo medio y carbonatación media-alta. Final seco. Sensación de infusion de frutos oscuros en el retrogusto. Muy Buena elección en dias invernales. Buena asimilación.

Smooth palate, low bitterness. Medium body, medium/high carbonation. Dry finish. Dark fruit infusion-like on the aftertaste. Very good option in winter days. Easy drinkability.

330ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of beige head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains with hints of chocolate and berries and herbs. Taste is roasty malt and herb bitterness with some fruit and chocolate sweetness. Medium body with light carbonation. A very nice easy to drink dark ale that is recommended to try.

I’m not a giant fan of this beer, but I have to give the brewers credit for this kind of creativity. Roasted flavor, a bit of spicyness, but the taste is dominated by the elderberry. Watery body. Tried with Olivier and Dave at the Fiddler in Den Haag.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Dagan’s place. Dark brown color. Roasty aroma, a bit spicy, with a bit of chocolate. Malty flavor, pretty roasty, with a pleasant dry finish with a tiny bit of coffee. Medium-bodied. Decent.
