2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a hazy straw color with a small head and little lacing. Slightly sweet, toasted hops. Floral tones. Hint of sweetness, tartness and bitterness. Thin bodied, mild to moderate carbonation. Leathery. This is just not my type of beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
50 cl bottle. Head is quite huge, on top of a lovely clear amber. Aroma is fresh, floral, very well balanced and a real pleasure to drink. Given the fact that it’s one of the oldest recipes in the world and it’s a really good beer (those who love very bitter drinks might think otherwise, though) it’s worth buying and trying. My two cents: it’s much better than the current overall rating!

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle from John Mays - Thanks! --- Floral wheat aroma, refreshing. Hazy medium amber color, white head that drops to a full cover, hanging strands of lace. Taste is malt and floral herbs and spice that adds light fizz and light hops on the way to a finish slowly moves back to malt and spice. A light brew, a little yeasty, too much of the herb/spice combo to be first rate.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 10/20
I don’t understand the low rating on this one...I found it to be very good and I am a dark, heavy stout drinker so it really was a refreshing surprise for me.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at the Eagle and Child in Oxford. Spicy, reminded my of ginger, and had a good malt backbone. I wasn’t blown away by this - it was alright, but didn’t shout class to me.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Light golden colour, white head which dissipates but holds the glass side. Aroma is quite fresh but subtle. Taste likewise with grassy overtones and a background of light hops. No great lasting finish. Different.....
