COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered
Ingredients: Malts: British Pale Ale Malt, Cara Malt, Malted Wheat. Heather, Bogmyrtle.
The Brotherhood have been guardians of the ancient Gaelic recipe for "leann fraoich" (heather ale) since 1988 and are proud to be the only brewery still producing this unique style of beer and distributing it world wide. A light amber ale with floral peaty aroma, full malt character, and a spicy herbal finish - This beer allows you to literally pour 4000 years of Scottish history into a glass.
Into the boiling bree of malted barley, sweet gale and flowering heather are added, then after cooling slightly the hot ale is poured into a vat of fresh heather flowers where it infuses for an hour before being fermented.

The strange aroma is ... strange ... but thats alright ... it pours a hazy orangeish-brown with no head ... it feels fine in the mouth ... light and refreshing ... the flavor is the real story here ... very floral, sweet and refreshing ... i can imagine the taste would be hit-or-miss for most people, but its definitely unique and refreshing ... a think a lot of the lower reviews here are from people were expecting it to taste like something they usually buy ... but c'mon, how can you pass up the chance to try brewed heather?

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with almost no head, only a sparse lace. Aromas of sweet fruit and honey Sweet flavors up front: pineapple, mango and honey; grassy notes and slight breadiness. Finishes with a mild, floral bitterness. Thin body; watery. Interesting ale. Very unique.

Pours burnt copper with almost no head at all. A lot of honey in the aroma. A bit of honey in the taste, some heather, a good bit of malt. It’s a mediocre beer but drinkable.

500 ml bottle pours very clear gold. Nose is subtle, sweet flowers and honey. Great flavours on taste. Interesting note that I am guessing is the bog myrtle. Not much off the hops.

traditional ales - also a part of various malt (barley, wheat). Aroma hops compared withother ales from Williams Brothers - rather weak. Very delicate beer. Long wondered what kind of grass is in the taste - Eucalyptus? tarragon? later I read online that this is Heather.

Hazy golden colour with small off-white head that last a couple of seconds with a thin lacing. Aroma is floral and malty, hints of spicy. Taste is also floral and a bit hoppy and sweet, hints of burned sugar. Low carbonation and medium body with a sweet finish.

Anaranjada y turbia con espuma escasa. Aroma marcadamente floral. Buen cuerpo y sabor malteado, algo dulce y con un predominio final bastante destacado de flores y menta. Receta milenaria basada en flores de brezo. Diferente.
