Gooseberry Wheat Ale
From the Gaelic "Groseid". Since at least the 16th century Scots monks and alewives brewed indigenous drinks from cereals, wild herbs and ripe fruits. Tibbie Shiels green Grozet was immortalised by such Scots literati as Sir Walter Scott, Jas Hogg. (The Ettrick shepherd) and Robert Burns whoconsidered it a most convivial drink.
Brewed with lager malt, wheat, bog myrtle, hops and meadowsweet then secondary fermented with ripe Scottish gooseberries.
A pale golden beer, with a refreshing fruit aroma, clean palate, fruity wheat flavour and crisp finish. Recommended with, light foods, pastas and salads.
Drink well chilled in a tall glass.

Nice light looking pint. The aroma is more like American hops and citrus fruits than gooseberry. Same with the flavour. However, it makes a nice and light summer pint.

Bottle at work. Sprint beer. Clear golden bright coloured pour with a reluctant white frothy head. Aroma is damp hay straw, tangy citrus, lager notes, some spicy citrus rind. Flavour is composed of crisp base malts, pils, straw, tangy citrus rind, lemon, zippy, spicy notes. Palate is light and crisp with highish carbonation. Nice and drinkable. .

23.1.2015. Clear yellow. Aroma has cereal and sth strange, gooseberries? Taste slightly bitter, obviously gooseberries, honey. Not good.

Smooth, grainy but fresh beginning. In the mainpart there are hints of citrus, if you know it you can taste the gooseberries. Lots of grain, very smooth with a dryer, dustier finish. Not too intense gooseberry-flavour, lots of grain here in the body, but round and smooth.

Clear color, small white head. Wheat, grass, floral, mint, spice, herbs. Flavor is malt, wheat, floral and underlying mint. Pretty interesting and damn smooth.

Cloudy like a wheat beer in appearance with minimal head. Floral and citrus notes on the nose. Fruity and dry on the palette with a Pilsner like bitterness. Lovely interesting beer. Recommend

I wanted something hoppy, but this sucked. It's sweet and only has a slight citrus note. Crap ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
