larsga (2448), Oslo, Norway Oct 11, 2008 Huge brown-beige lasting head. Deep dark red barely translucent body. Roasty milky chocolatey aroma with earthy coffee notes. Sweetish mild salty earthy milky coffee and chocolate taste, balanced and harmonic. Mid-bodied. Dry roasty papery coffee aftertaste with floral notes. Nice, and unusual. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)
machfive55 (90), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 21, 2008 Wow, I had this beer and can’t believe I forgot to rate it. My thoughts were that this was more of a normal stout, nothing too exciting other than the enticement that there is seaweed in the beer which is something different. There really isn’t anything odd about the beer other than I found there to be a fairly strong medicinal flavor, which was unpleasant. Not extremely great, nothing terribly appealing about this beer, it was only semi-drikable to me. KnutAlbert (2484), Oslo, Norway Oct 29, 2008 Bottle from Centra, Oslo.
Dark ruby, not very strong aroma. MAlt, tar, quite fruity. Coffe, boiled sweets. I don’t know if I can distinguish any seaweed here, but it is a nice beer nevertheless. daknole (1131), Plantation, Florida, USA Oct 18, 2008 This is an interesting and a pleasant surprise. Dark, dark pour. Tan head. Aroma is a bit smoky, chocolate, nuts, and nice. Flavor is smoky, sweet-tart, with some slight hints of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is a tad thin. but I liked this beer. OleR (1382), Oslo, Norway Oct 17, 2008 500 ml bottle. Tanned, big bubbled medium-sized head. Dark brown, almost opaque, ruby hued body. Cocoa and milk-chocolate aroma. Some nutty, almost cheesy scents. Light sour-sweet malt flavor. Also some mild spices and chocolate. Low on the hops. Medium body. A faint bitterness in a sour-malty ending. Does not stand out, but goes well down.
