| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2010 50 cl Bottle. Reminiscent of a stout in the appearance. Slightly transparent, dark brown color with ruby tones. Tiny, tanned head with moderate lacework. Lot of roasted malty presence on the nose. Sweetish plain choclate carefully paired with tart, creamy feel with moderate salty or peaty character. The flavor is quite roasted, dry, even initially, but there’s a distinct sweetish lactic, creamy, yeasty component also. I can’t detect any particular seaweed, though a very dry peaty-salty, almost coal-like
dryness is sensible through the whole palate, particularly at the back-end. The body is thin, but also quite creamy with pleasantly low, typical stout-like carbonation. I would say this is somewhere between dry and sweet stout, blindly. Rciesla (3915), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2009 pour is dark and translucent, like a porter, taste is very malty and roasty, again like a porter. I don’t taste any seabreeze or seaweed. Basically, this is a better than average porter. Bottle from Knightly Spirits, Orlando. Toxygen (413), Sanford, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Bottled 50cl. Leathery nose with a lot of roasted malt showing up. Paprika sneaking in. Salty taste. Low carbonation. Deeply pleasant. Nice bitterness. Salty finish which is reminiscent of tar, leather and phenols. tnkw01 (214), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Bottle. This is a good beer! Taste like a good Dunkle or Porter. Nice coffee/chocolate undertones with a good "bite" of bitter that lingers on the tongue. Great stuff. sound67 (215), Offenbach, Germany

Pours almost a pitch-black, with a big, creamy light beige head. Good retention, plenty of lacing.
Aroma of chocolate and coffee, and, yes, a soft breeze from the sea. ;=)
Fairly light-bodied for what is, ultimately, a stout. Medium- to low carbonation, creamy but wee-watery mouth feel.
Is it just make-believe, or is there really a note of salt water to this otherwise coffee-ish stout? I believe there is, and there’s also dark chocolate, as well as some interesting spicy herbs. Finish is bitter-ish and smooth, with a lingering coffee after taste. As well as some salt, which I should recognize because I took a dip in the English Channel just a few months back. And, no, I’m not kidding.
With a heavier body, this brew would be perfect. As it is, it’s "just" lovely. ;=) MoritzF (5114), Bochum, Germany
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 (bottle) Dark mahogany colour with a beige medium-sized foamy head. Moderately sweet roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, liquorice, salt and slightly fruity hops in the background. Sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, almost medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasty malt character with notes of dark chocolate, caramel, liquorice and hints of fruity, almost a bit zesty aroma hops; sweet and slightly bitter roasted finish with notes of slightly salty chocolate in the aftertaste. Aromatic brew. 15.XI.09
