Aubrey (2625), Denver, Colorado, USA May 3, 2003 One of the maltier "pilsners" I've had. Amber with an orange hue. Tightly packed bubbles. Sweet, cereal-like grains in the nose. Rather intense malts; very sharp and grainy with a burnt toast note. Decent mouthfeel, somewhat creamy. Not what I expected at all. Ernest (4285), Boulder, Colorado, USA Nov 6, 2002 Draught.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is
lightly malty (cereal, grain),
lightly hoppy (perfume),
lightly yeasty (sweat),
with notes of vegetable/silage and solvent.
Flavor is
moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Finish is
lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, unclean.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Some of these are impressively bad...it’s probably not easy to make beer this poorly, so it’s actually almost worthy of study.
