COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
While the style is an oxymoron, this ale is an variation of our "Loose Cannon" IPA with an obvious dark note.

Drank from bottle. Smells just like there loose cannon IPA. Tastes a lot like loose cannon, but it has a coffee flavor to it. Honestly, I prefer loose cannon more. By no means is this a bad beer but overall it feels weak. Good but nowhere near the awesomeness of loose cannon

Pours very dark. Medium head. Malty and bitter. Just the way I like it. By far my favorite black IPA...

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured dark deep brown, medium head and decent lacing. Aroma is a nice combination of malts and hops. Taste has a nice bitterness to it but it is well balanced with the sweetness of the malt. Not bad, nice and enjoyable.

12oz bottle from June 2013 - pours black with tan head. Roasty, floral, chocolate and caramel. Fairly bitter from the hops and roast. A tad thin for the style. Long roasted coffee finish. Allez les Bleus - thanks Ribery!

Bottle. This is a pretty limp black IPA without much to set it apart from the rest.

On tap @ Mudville 9. Deep dark and brown in the glass with a small eventually islandy light brown top. It has nice tones of chocolate, sweetness, roasted malts and a little bit of coffee on the nose this. In the taste it’s a little bit yeasty fruity with nuts and dry cocoa. Soft prickling carbonation level and the mouthfeel is light oily. More traces of chocolate and chocolate paper, but it feels a bit thin perhaps? A nice quite roasted and lasting aftertaste on this one that I really like. 20.06.2013

Draught at Lexington Beerworks. Chocolate and roast black IPA. Creamy body and finish. Pretty smooth.

Sampled during CBC 2013. Deep brown pour, almost black, with a small tan head. Roasted malts on the aroma, ash, coffee, and mild chocolate, with a bit of pine and dank. Better flavor, more hop character, touches of citrus, pine, and dank, with a nice balance of roasted malts. Not bad!

Bottle from a friend. Fruity and dark malty smell. Similar taste. The hops have problems getting through the dark malts.

Poured from a bottle, dark brown, almost black, with little to no head. Aroma of licorice and malts, even a floral aspect comes out from the hops. Flavor is roasted malts, bitter chocolate, some pine, but I didn't detect that in the smell. Well balanced and good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
