Bottle from a friend. Fruity and dark malty smell. Similar taste. The hops have problems getting through the dark malts.

Poured from a bottle, dark brown, almost black, with little to no head. Aroma of licorice and malts, even a floral aspect comes out from the hops. Flavor is roasted malts, bitter chocolate, some pine, but I didn't detect that in the smell. Well balanced and good beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

After a @#$%^&* rush hour traffic ride home acouple days ago. Piney hops and roasty malt aroma. Black brown with a moderate to large head. Dark roasty chocolate malt, resinous pine, citrus peel hops, and a little caramel flavor. Medium body and carbonation.

12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Super dark brown with a small dark beige head. Pleasant aromas of dark chocolate, fresh coffee, wood and piney hops. Cocoa flavors, with espresso, med-hi bitterness and rich roasted malts. Med-full bodied, softly carbonated, creamy and well balanced, relatively to the style. Nice.

Pours black like a stout with some tan head that dissipated quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is roasted malt with "some" hops. The hop aroma is very mild compared to your normal IPA. Taste definitely follows the nose. Medium bodied and creamy.

Tap at Beer Authority, NYC, 18/05/13. Black with a thin light tan head. Nose carries hops, pine resin, light cocoa, mineral notes. Taste comprises hops, pine, bitter grapefruit, light mineral notes. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, bitter hop notes in the finish, Decent enough CDA.

Bottle: pours blackish dish water, fine khaki head. Mild nose of roasts malts, coffee, pine, toffee. More resin, earthy tones and coffee bitterness on the palate. Kind of bitter but yet a ton on the finish. Nothing wrong here just nothing to rave about either. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled. Black pour with ruby highlights. Off white head with good lacing. Caramel malt, maybe a little chocolate, though perhaps that's just the color influencing the flavor. A nice hop flavor to this one. Pineapple, spice, mango. Medium body. Quite a nice IPA, regardless of the color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy from my iPad.
