A nice malty lager. Easy to drink, with a nice hops bite. It has a nice dark color that is appetizing, as well as nice carbonation.

Aroma is bread/grains and a hint of vegetables. The flavor is malts, a hint of hops, an undertone of vegetables and a slightly odd funkiness. Could’ve been better without the vegetable flavor.

Originally reviewed: 8/23/10. Nice new offering from Clipper City. Always excited to see a new craft lager. Purchased at The Brewer’s Kettle in High Point. 12oz bottle poured into a pint glass.
Pours a translucent darker gold with the thinnest of white sheets on top. Dissipates quickly. Not even a ring around the edge. No lace. Scents of grass, flowers, veggies, and grains. The mouth is crisp and refreshing. Good carbonation level. Not too spritzy. The flavor is sharp and refreshing as well. A mild hop kick at the onset, creamy buttery middle, and finishes tangy and semi-sweet. Good lager here. Drinkable as anything I’ve had before. This is far better than any macro lager out there. Perfect beer for the summer, and perfect beer to introduce others to the wonderful world of craft beer. Will be getting this again and again.

kind of sweet with some bitterness that hits you late like, in the throat first. Some corny sweetness and malty wheat toffee fleeting through. $9.49 a six pack at a discounter. almost malt liquor like in gratey amped up style eeehhh.

Bottle. Eh. The weakest of the variety pack IMO. Pale copper color with a decent head. Lighter bodied palate than expected from a lager with a dry finish. The taste was a bit faint which drove down my rating; mostly picked up on hay hop mixed with a malt backbone, a corn aftertaste. Bleh.

Tap. Pours clear yellow with thin, fizzy white head; short retention and spare lacing. Aroma is straw, biscuit malt, corn, light fruit, and faint grassy hops. Flavor is all sweet malt with only a hint of light fruit esters; dry, crisp finish. Light body and warmth with medium carbonation.
