2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a very dark brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt and brown sugar. Taste is very sweet with some fruity notes. Slightly watery up front. Not the best aftertaste. Doesn’t really taste like an abbey ale, kinda disappointing. Probably won’t try again.

Dark brown pour with light tan head. Aroma of prunes and well water. Light caramel, some sweet malt. Flavor is pretty sweet with a weird spice note. Normal mouthfeel. Finishes off. Not sure what the hell is going on with this one.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Kenny Road Market, poured into Chimay trappist glass. Poured a clear brown with surprisingly little head. Aroma was largely boozy with hints of apples, raisins, and caramel. Taste was okay--similar to the aroma but with a somewhat unpleasant sourness that wasn’t as crisp or refreshing as other abbey ales I’ve had. I don’t know if the fact that it wasn’t bottle conditioned had anything to do with that. Full bodied. Okay.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This one, straight out of the bottle and into the glass, looked like it had some promise, but fell a little short of my expectations. The aroma wasn’t has big or "alive"(as I like to call it) as I had hoped. The flavor is bold with touches of spices and herbs. Quite good, but nothing too special.
