Loose Cannon Hop3 Ale is a triple hopped IPA containing over 3 pounds of hops per barrel. Not for the faint of palate, it has an intensely floral, spicy, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor. Available year round

Bottle courtesy of BuckNaked. Copper with decent white head full of tiny bubbles. Aroma full of citrus zest up front, decent malt background. Flavor much the same, lots of grapefruit and orange zest, hints of floral hops with a nice sweet caramel malt backbone. Nice mouthfeel bitter a clean. Lingering grapefruit bitterness in the finish. Very well rounded IPA, IMO. Nicely done!

12 oz bottle. Pours a super clear light gold, small white head. Citrusy hop nose, some sweet yeast and light floral notes. Flavor is yellow grapefruit, nicely hopped without being overbearingly hopped. Nice east coast style IPA!

Light amber; medium moderatly frothy and moderately fizzy head. Very aromatic; floral, citrusy, and sharply hoppy. Flavor is floral with some breadiness; slightly piney; sharp but not-too-strong hop bitterness lingers extensively on the palate. 7.5% abv doesnít show whatsoever. Medium body with very slight stickiness. I continue to maintain my disdain for the clichť overly hoppy beers, but this is finally an IPA that has more to it than just hops.

Clear orange pour with a good white head. Doughy, yeasty aroma. Fruits and malts on the front end, with a spicey hop kick on the finish. I donít know which hop does it...but I like it.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2006 Hop3 cask at Dilly Deli in Cincinnati. Pours clear copper, little head or carbonation. Aroma of floral hops and some alcohol. Flavor of peppery hops, sweet caramel malt, and some graininess. Finished dry with a hint of dishsoap and alcohol. Not bad, but I was expecting better. Worth a try, and by far the best offering from Clipper City that I have had. RERATED BOTTLE 1-9-06. Bottled version has a cleaner finish, and I enjoyed better than the cask!!! If I had access to this, I would drink this on a regular basis. Priced ell too.

Bottle. Spicy, crisp grapefruit aroma that is quite inviting, though Iím getting accustomed to this same aroma on many decent IPAs and APAs and sometimes feel like Iím about to drink basically the same beer, albeit good, starting to feel a little unadevnturous, although I always enjoy it and am refreshed by it...Know what? This isnít the same as every IPA. Itís major ruby red grapefruit, more fruity than any other IPA. The alcohol is a bit more prominent - note the high-ish abv - but contributes nicely to the flavor and adds a little booziness often missing from pale ale. Good stuff, decent finish.

Coppery brew with lots of white head, beautiful aroma of citrusy hops. Citrusy tea flavor consistent throughout, with very minimal bitterness. $1.80/12oz

The name of this beer is quite apt, as it explodes with a bang of sweet malt and leaves your tongue charred with a sharp hop finish. The strong flowery aroma belies the sweet chain shot of malt. Intense in every sense of the word, at 7.5% this is some dangerous artillery. Be warned and enjoy!
