12oz bottle thanks to SprinsLicker! Poures a nice golden color with a medium frothy head. Nice hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and pine . Good hoppy flavor with a nice malty balance. Nice lingering bitter finish. My kind of IPA, a bit hoppier that most of the non-west coast IPA’s I have had thus far.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a translucent orange amber with a medium bubbly off white head that left some lacing but diminished fairly quickly. Aroma was very nice. A very fresh hop aroma of oranges, floral, caramel and a light spiciness. Aroma actualy reminded me a slightly stepped down Nugget Nectar. Flavor was also solid with a light bitterness up front that is quickly balanced out with the malts. Picking up more pine and grapefruit in the flavor. ABV very well hidden. Happily impressed with this IPA.

Bottle. Small off-white fizzy head that mostly diminished, minimal lacing, transparent, carbonated, and a golden hue. Nose was hoppy and citrus. Flavor was very hoppy, malty, caramel and dry tasting. Hoppy, dry mouthfeel. Medium body.

12oz - best before 8/06 - Aroma of fresh floral hops and citrus zing. Pours transparent orange-brown with medium head and great lacing. Flavor is very hoppy with some malt showing up to mellow it out. Palate is crisp and tart. A nicely balanced hoppy IPA that is on the shelves in Indiana.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium amber orange, decent head fades slowly. Aroma a mix of floral and citric hops, pleasant but restrained. Flavor, once warm, was a balanced mix of caramel and biscuit malts with an overlay of grapefruit, pine, nectarine, and floral accented hops. Well done. Should note that while cooler, the flavors in this beer were quite closed, and the carbonation biting. Dramatically better as it neared room temperature.

This is clearly the brewery’s best beer yet, loaded with hops. No new ground is broken with this beer, it is just another example of a big fruity, piney American IPA. Still, it is welcome, a good inexpensive go-to hop fix. I like it a lot and buy it frequently, but it is so easy to over-rate these. Aroma? Mmmm smells like a lot of hops! Flavor? Mmmmmm tastes like a lot of hops! etc.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Apparent amarillo nose with tangerine and c-hops. Light amber in color with a flicker of a white head. Nicely bitter flavor with lemons and oranges doing battle. Pleasantly balanced with sugary malts, this beer is fairly decent. Thanks to beeryum for the opportunity.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2006 Pleasant grapefruit/citrus nose rises up and out of the glass. A doughy bread note balances the sour grapefruit nicely. The body is rather warming - the high ABV really shows in the finish. Drinks easy though, showing notes of fresh juices, rose petals and grassiness along the way. I’d buy again.
