3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Despite the advertising of the massive amount of hops in the thing, and the reviews that talk about it, I actually find this beer to be well balanced with a significant malt taste to it. Maybe itís because it seems to contain some hops and malts that arenít in a lot of IPAs, and is missing other standard ones. This really seems like something thatís in a bit of a different category from some of the other IPAs I drink to some degree, though tís not that it doesnít fit the style, itís just a different way of approaching it. A lot of times I drink a hoppy IPA and then may want a second beer thatís a different style, whereas this I could see as a go-to beer. Very refreshing, and the malt presence isnít too heavy at all, nor do you feel like youíre missing out on hops, they are just a bit less harsh, but still spicy. Real flavorful while still being very drinkable without much dryness (In other words, itís not made more drinkable by being watered down, it has every bit of flavor as other IPAs if not more, itís just a more drinkable flavor). I remember a friend taking me out for a meal in Baltimore years ago and this was on special and I had several with some crab cakes, great combo. By the way, did I mention this is a Baltimore beer? Thatís a plus for me as a Baltimore kind of guy. Regular price is a bit expensive for me, but itís on sale or in a mix pack thatís on sale, or at a gathering or whatever, often enough that itís not unavailable, and as other beers go up in price, this seems more and more in the general ball park of the cheap craft beers (Often regularly priced $9.99/6). Would be interested in a $15-$16 twelve pack (Save a few bucks) if they could pull it off, but havenít seen that format.

quite possibly one of my favorites in this category. Readily available at my local beverage center and very potent. A thoroughly enjoyable beverage. I am a fan of fresh obnoxious slap you in the face hops. And in this case, you have it.

Aroma of apricots, dried fruit, and citrus. Pale golden color no head. Taste of hops, dried fruit and citrus. Bitter palate.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a cloudy gold with minimal lacing. Tastes flat, despite it being on cask. I was expecting more from the description. For a hop heavy beer, it almost lacks hops. Tastes of pronounced lemon with background notes of pine.

Pours a cloudy yellow golden colour withe white head and lacing. Very nice aroma of malts and lavender. Tastes flat, but this was on cask. Tastes of lemon with a faint pine background. Not a bad beer, maybe better not on cask

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice and smooth IPA, light amber with thin soapy of-white head. Just enough hops for flavor without taking away from the malt. Malt and hops blend well in the aroma and taste, mild astringent finish

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 4/2014. Pours slightly hazy bright orange amber color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, light mango, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity of bright citrus hop and moderate malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, orange zest, lemon zest, light mango, floral, grass, light pine, light caramel, bread, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange/lemon zest, light mango, floral, grass, light caramel, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity of citrus hop and moderate malt flavors; with a great hop/malt flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice IPA. All around good balance and complexity of citrus hop and moderate malt flavors; and very smooth to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. single from Big Red Liquors in Carmel, Indiana. Strangely for an IPA, the only aroma I got off this was a bubblegum (but not estery) scent. Slightly hazy with a light/medium yellow color. I was a bit worried by the smell and that I got some a very slight flavor of bubblegum quickly, but it soon resolved into a good blend of sweet caramel malt and nicely balancing earthy and citrus bitterness. Itís more like an English IPA with some American hops thrown in (which is a good thing). I had this past the "purchase before month" on the bottle (October and itís February now), so the hops may have been a bit muted, but theyíre still quite nice. The hops really hang around on the tongue though and get spicy! This one grows on you as you drink it.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
@ Party Town / Florence KY Clear medium dark amber, generous 1" head, mottled bands of lace. Taste is caramel malt, challenged almost immediately by firm floral and citrus hops. Both are mouth filling while remaining light on the stomach. No subtlety or other flavors in the palate, just malt and hops. Decent IPA.
