My first Heavy Seas beer. Quit delightful flavor very robust, crisp, suggests citrus. Definitely buying this one again.

On tap. Golden copper pour with a white head. Aroma has some pine and light hop bitterness but is very underwhelming in the hops department. Taste is light pine with bitterness and some complimentary sweet malt. Even, slightly coating mouthfeel. Subpar IPA.

Pours dark orange with a little hop aroma. Bold flavors of citrus and pine in the body but could use more. I remember this beer being better before. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Despite the advertising of the massive amount of hops in the thing, and the reviews that talk about it, I actually find this beer to be well balanced with a significant malt taste to it. Maybe it’s because it seems to contain some hops and malts that aren’t in a lot of IPAs, and is missing other standard ones. This really seems like something that’s in a bit of a different category from some of the other IPAs I drink to some degree, though t’s not that it doesn’t fit the style, it’s just a different way of approaching it. A lot of times I drink a hoppy IPA and then may want a second beer that’s a different style, whereas this I could see as a go-to beer. Very refreshing, and the malt presence isn’t too heavy at all, nor do you feel like you’re missing out on hops, they are just a bit less harsh, but still spicy. Real flavorful while still being very drinkable without much dryness (In other words, it’s not made more drinkable by being watered down, it has every bit of flavor as other IPAs if not more, it’s just a more drinkable flavor). I remember a friend taking me out for a meal in Baltimore years ago and this was on special and I had several with some crab cakes, great combo. By the way, did I mention this is a Baltimore beer? That’s a plus for me as a Baltimore kind of guy. Regular price is a bit expensive for me, but it’s on sale or in a mix pack that’s on sale, or at a gathering or whatever, often enough that it’s not unavailable, and as other beers go up in price, this seems more and more in the general ball park of the cheap craft beers (Often regularly priced $9.99/6). Would be interested in a $15-$16 twelve pack (Save a few bucks) if they could pull it off, but haven’t seen that format.

Enjoyable, but overall it was ok for me. It had nice hop flavor but was anything too exciting. Pretty well crafted and something that hop lovers might like. Standard and well crafted.

Favorite beer, very hoppy with a great aftertaste. Initially I felt it was too bitter, but I think I simply didn’t appreciate the spicy flavor.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark hazy rust color with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, floral hops, and sweet malts. Taste is citrus, pine, with a nice caramel sweet malt backbone. Thick and chewy. Sticky lacing. Nice bitter finish.
