COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Style: American IPA
Hops: Warrior, Simcoe, Palisade, Centennial, Cascade, Citra
Malts: 2-Row, Caramalt, Munich

Our flagship beer, Loose Cannon wins people over at first smell. The carefully cultivated interplay of Simcoe, Palisade, and Centennial creates a most fragrant IPA—its nose bursts with notes of grapefruit, herbs, and pine. Bitterness is somewhat subdued by the floral quality that pervades the taste. The color is burnished gold, and the mouthfeel is creamy. A strong malt backbone balances out the triple-hopped beer. Its nickname, Hop3, comes from the brewing process: our brewers hop Loose Cannon in the boil, the hopback, and the fermenter. It won a second place CAMRA award at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

Pours briliantly clear with a smalish off white head, aromas of hops and some bready malt, also noteworthy to say there is an off aroma of DMS (like a cooked can corn smell) usually results from a hot fermentation, not a good thing but its in there. Flavor is solid with english malt, slightly sweet lke a dogfish 90 minute but not as alcoholic. Hop presents in more of the flavor and aroma than the bitterness, this is not a bitter beer by any means, but it has a nice hop profile though. I was plesantly suprised at this beer over all.

It pours a golden color with a medium sized, very long lasting white head. I smell caramel, resin, pine, citrus and a little bit of a floral aroma. I taste caramel, a moderate hop bitterness, a floral taste and a little pine. This is a damn good beer.

Quite nice. One noticeable feature is the lack of bitterness. Aroma is a mixtures of elements from citrus to floral with only a twinge of grassy esters. Taste is robust with a bright citrus and grassy hop flavor. The malt adds a soft and sweet flavor, which carries through the lingering hop finish. Overall, it’s nearly a fantastic beer. I just wanted a little more aroma to go with the bright hop flavors.

Pours somewhat of an orange gold color with white head. Citrus, pine, grass, on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a hop bite that is then balanced out with the malt.

Bottled. Pours clear golden orange. Aroma is lots of hops and citrus. Grapefruit, lots of peach, orange, pineapple, mango, papaya. One of the best smelling IPAs. Flavor is tons of tropical citrus hops. Incredibly good. Bitter finish. Amazing IPA.

Citrus aroma; orange appearance with a lacy white head; moderate hop taste with citrus tones; fizzy on the palate with a smooth finish and a little bit of bitterness; overall, a good IPA, best characterized as smooth for better and worse ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
