Loose Cannon Hop3 Ale is a triple hopped IPA containing over 3 pounds of hops per barrel. Not for the faint of palate, it has an intensely floral, spicy, and citrusy hop aroma and flavor. Available year round

This beer was amazing. I had the good fortune of trying it the first time straight from the cask. The aroma and flavor are straight hops, it’s like holding a handful of hops right up to your nose and taking a deep breath. It’s thick but not to hearty. You won’t need a nap after one of them. This is one of the best beers I’ve had in a long time.

This is my absolute favorite beer of all time. I bought it on a lark because of the comical name/label, and quickly realized I had stumbled into a treasure. A solid punch of hops is followed by an intracate symphony of citrus and spices, to create one of the best beer drinking experiences money can buy. If you like IPA’s and compex tastes, this one is a must-try.

A great beer for hop lovers. I was fortunate to try this beer on the same day that the first batch was bottled (one of the perks of working at Clipper City’s top retailer).

It’s my go to beer. It’s wonderfully hoppy but not too bitter. There’s a nice it of malt and sometimes I swear there’s some vanilla in there. Last year I had the pleasure of drinking some from a batch with an extra pound in the dry hop and the grassy hop flavor was stupendous. Anyone who loves hops must try this beer.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2012 My Favorite American IPA...amazing aroma, great taste and finish and for a 7.25% ABV there is no taste of alcohol. Truely a great American IPA!

A caramel malt that is very hoppy, hence the name. Golden amber color with a big white head that laces throughout. The sweetness is heavy and it isn’t very bitter. A really good balance to create full body heavy beer. A great appearance followed by an amazing taste. A smooth finish. This is a very thick textured beer with soft carbonation. A long finish to put it down. Hands down the best beer I have ever tasted. I drank this beer after a Captain Lawrence Imperial IPA. Usually when I follow up the Double everything tastes really weak...however, the loose cannon topped the Imperial and tasted even better. This is with out a doubt my new favorite beer.

The cenenial take the floor but the other hops play nice and get their licks in. Gouda worked well to cut the floweryness(SP?) down but I love this beer. Clipper city is showing some real brass with the Heavy Seas line. Love hops???? Get it NOW!

Tasted on TAP, and many a bottle, but only in Baltimore. I wish I could get this out west. HOP 3 [cubed]! This is the closest I’ve tasted perfection. And it’s not a Portland brew. It’s now what I seek out when visiting the Land Of Pleasant Living, Baltimore, MD. So good, I had to take the tour. HOPPY, Fruity, Tasty, kicky, ranks right up there with the Best each year at the Oregon Brewers Fest. Highly recommended to any IPA’er.

UPDATED: OCT 20, 2008 Bottle from sampler 6 pack, best by July 07. Clear, burnt orange, with an enduro three-quarter inch head of meringue that leaves a crunchy frosting all over the glass. Aroma is nice grapefruit with honey, caramel and a dash of pepper and oak. Taste is similar, but big body of malt sweetness holds up well against the powerful (but nice) flavor of the hops. Palate is just a touch to the light side of medium, and smoooooth. Aftertaste is a demonstration of more (yet a different) balance of malt and tongue tingling hops. Top-notch American IPA could also be a session beer for all seasons. Update: This is a damn good hop blend! Love the light carbonation and complex aromas and flavors that are slightly different on every sip. Upped initial tentative and inexperienced rating from a 4.3 to a 4.7 based on comparisons to many inferior AIPAs over the last year or so.
