COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Style: American IPA
Hops: Warrior, Simcoe, Palisade, Centennial, Cascade, Citra
Malts: 2-Row, Caramalt, Munich

Our flagship beer, Loose Cannon wins people over at first smell. The carefully cultivated interplay of Simcoe, Palisade, and Centennial creates a most fragrant IPA—its nose bursts with notes of grapefruit, herbs, and pine. Bitterness is somewhat subdued by the floral quality that pervades the taste. The color is burnished gold, and the mouthfeel is creamy. A strong malt backbone balances out the triple-hopped beer. Its nickname, Hop3, comes from the brewing process: our brewers hop Loose Cannon in the boil, the hopback, and the fermenter. It won a second place CAMRA award at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

Was available in Baltimore airport. Pours clear golden. Big hop fruit aroma coming off this one. Delicious profile, with bitter finish. All sorts of floral hops and citrus. Delicious. Despite the dirty glass...

On the third day of Christmas 2014. Pours copper with a small of white head. Aroma is lots of floral, citrus and a hint of caramel. Taste is moderate bitters with a touch of sweetness on the finish. Medium bodied, alcohol well hidden, good carbonation.

Draft at the Greene Turtle at BWI. Pours a clear, copper color with a thin, lacing white head. Nice, thick hoppy aroma. Some tangy fruit as well. Smooth, hoppy taste. Almost creamy as in it is on nitro. Good balance. Not too overpowering. Solid IPA.

Extremely satisfying IPA, floral citrusy hop aroma, was this dry-hopped? Beautiful deep golden color with a creamy head, yet there is a good balance of malt to round it out. Excellent example of the style.

Draft at mellow mushroom (fl). Woody citrus aroma. Looks like every other beer. Not overly bitter- citrus overtones. Straight up good. Reordered!

Really nice beer. Aroma is mostly citrus and pine with biscuity malts taking the backseat. Flavor. Wow. Bitter but drinkable. Nice citrus and pine with a great malt profile. Balanced nicely.

Appearance- clear honey gold. Decent medium bone white head that lasted a good bit. A little lacing, not much. Very pleasing/inviting to the eye. Smell- clean, piney, floral, hoppy, citrus (grapefruit). Taste- bitter hops up front. Malty, biscuity on the end. Big citrus wallop (grapefruit on the nose carries to the taste, big time). Mouthfeel- medium body. Well balanced. A good bit going on here but very consistent throughout. Overall- excellent! An outstanding IPA. Was a gateway beer for me several years ago when first getting used to this style, and has remained a "Big 4" for me over time (the other 3? Lagunitas Lil Sumpin’, Bells Two Hearted, 21st Ammendment Brew Free or Die). Also, very reasonably priced ($7.99 at Total Wine). An additional note, visit the brewery if you have the opportunity. A great tour and tasting room. Cheers!

I found this to be a bit bubbly and light. Some citrus and floral aroma that did not really show up in the taste. Several people recommended this as very distinctive but I just didn't get it in the 4 bottles I had. Perfectly fine, if bubbly ipa but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
