Bomber pours a hazy burnt orange with a think brown head. Aromas of bourbon oak and some bread and a bit of yeast. Flavor is semi sweet with a boozy oaky flavor. Body is medium to full with a good aged oak finish

Dark brown with medium-small tan head. Aroma caramel/malt, bit of wood, dark fruits. Full body, some alcohol but pretty smooth anyway. Flavor sweet, brown sugar, some oak, dark fruit, vanilla. Warm off dry finish. Nice.

Deep reddish pour with a white head that fades to a ring with sticky lacing left behind. Big bourbon, oak, and vanilla on the nose. The taste is oak, vanilla, bourbon, and a hint of dark fruit and brown sugar. Pretty hot, think Iíll lay the rest down for a couple of years.

22 oz bottle. Part of a tasting 11/24/2013 at Fraserís Pub in Ann Arbor. The pour is a reddish-brown with a thin filmy head and minimal lace. Whoa, the nose on this is pretty much of bourbon. Itís incredibly boozy. There is a hint of caramel on the front, and the bourbon drowns the rest out. The flavor begins with a promise, showing a little roastiness, some light caramel, and then BAM, all bourbon again. There are times where the complexity of the barleywine tries to poke through, but it just os overwhelmed. The mouth feel is pretty solid, and leaves a great coating on the tongue. Just wish it was a bit less boozy

2010 version from Market Street Wine. Pours cloudy brown with almost no head. Aroma of caramel, molasses, sweet malt and hops. Medium to full bodied with a smooth palate that blends the sweet malt with bourbon. Tasty, the bourbon taste has probably mellowed since itís the 2010.

2012 vintage bomber, thanks sevenhokie! Rich bourbon aroma with notes of dark fruit and vanilla. Pours dark amber colored with a thin white head and no lacing. Sweet dark fruit flavors to start with a hint of vanilla. Finishes very smooth with excellent bourbon notes as well as a little bit of oak. Excellent barleywine.

Poured a clear dark chestnut orange (like a strong iced tea). There was a thin light beige head that dropped to just a film rather quickly. The aroma was primarily bourbon along with vanilla and dark fruits. The beer had a nice silky thicker texture and a nice bourbon flavor right up front along with the alcohol warmth. There is a nice sweetness of raisins, brown sugar and molasses to balance the alcohol flavor. The overall flavor mellows well into the finish with just a light alcohol bite and a big alcohol warmth. This was great for a cold snowy winter night.

Iím not a huge fan of bourbon flavored beer so this one wasnít for me but it was still made well, slight burned malt and dark fruit flavor with a whiskey finish

Growler from Cumming Growler Shop. Pours a dark red with a white frothy head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, fruit esters. Nice alcohol warmth that isnít overwhelming. Bourbon, vanilla, and dark fruits dominate taste. Hints of oak. A little too light bodied. Expected more of a full body. A bit of an oily texture. Subtle lingering bitterness on the finish with a slight resinous taste.
