COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditionally Cream Ales are fermented using lager yeast at "ale" temperatures, then slowly lowered down to "lager", taking the yeast from the top down to Davy Jones’ Locker.

Poured from 22oz bottle. Pours clear golden color with creamy white head. Spicy yeast and hop aroma. Real light malt flavor with hop and yeast finish. Slight spicy clove in the finish. Very smooth feel in mouth. This beer is very crisp and clean and leaves no aftertaste.

Cybercat (3256) - Georgia, USA - SEP 4, 2011
Pours a nice, if typical, clear amber with a fairly thick but not persistent white head. Malty aroma has an apple undertone, nothing special but still OK. Flavor, though, is quite nice, malty and fruity with a hint of hoppy bitterness. Texture is smooth, a little edgy and a little fizzy. Overall, not Heavy Seas’ best, but still worthy of a try, at least.

Bottle… Clear amber lager with a small creamy, white head. The nose mainly offers corn and ethanol with maybe a whisper of vanilla – smells like a cream ale. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and gentle carbonation. Even at room temperature, the flavor is sweet, but not cloyingly so. Bitterness is low, but it’s there. Grainy, creamy and pretty nice overall. Sweet, quickly fading finish. Bottle courtesy of hankchinaski!

Scubatrip (596) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - DEC 8, 2011
From the bottle, pours a clear greenish gold with a thin white bubbly head. Smells like a beer, malty and caramel. Taste is thick and of malt syrup, caramel, a hint of bitters, slightly drying toward the end. This is a fine, above average, quaffable beer.

Poured into a perfect pint. 3.0 A: Clear medium yellow color. Two fingers of frothy off-white head. Retention is average and no lacing is left. 4.0 S: Super grainy with a sweet grassiness. Vanilla wafer through and through. Part herbal, part earthy, party spicy hop aroma. A damn good smelling cream ale. 3.5 T: Tastes good for a cream ale too. White rice, vanilla wafer, grainy malts. Low bitterness. Earthy hop flavor for the most part. Not bad for what it is. 3.5 M: Light to lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Mix of crisp and creamy. 3.5 D: Cream ales aren’t the best style, but a lot of breweries manage to make decent ones nonetheless. Good drinkibility.
