4/10/13. 22oz bottle from somewhere in Albany, GA awhile back. Warehouse, maybe? Deep red brown pour with a small tan head that fades to a small ring. Rich malty aroma with lots of caramel and sweetness with some wood. The flavor is much the same with lingering wood and dryness. Not bad.

A nice dark brown pour. The aroma hits on roast, caramel, and a little natural earthy tone. Very rich and malty. Taste has a slightly sweet finish. Very easy to drink with no after taste.

Bottle pour. Nose of caramel and biscuit. Taste of sweet malt, tannin from the wood. No bitterness and some sweet aftertaste.

Bottle... Clear dark brown pour with a mid-sized, creamy, lightly tanned head. Decent retention. The aroma offers cocoa and toasted nuts with undercurrents of earthy wood and Olorosos sherry. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. The flavor is a blend of roasted wood, toasted nuts, chocolate and caramel malts with a small splash of Olorosos sherry. Finishes lightly sweet and a touch minerally.

Bomber from greens. Chewy grain red fruit and raisin flavors dominate. No idea what eucalyptus should taste like so don’t ask me how that plank treatment is tasting. A well rounded drink either way.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2013 Pours dark brown with a thin cream head. Chocolate, brown sugar, and slight wood notes. Alcohol astringency at first, but then chocolate, molasses, and eucalyptus which is distinguishable in the taste. Finish is a little bittersweet.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. Pours a darker brown with a beige head of foam. Aroma is sweet with notes of light wood. Taste is sweet with some fruity notes coming through over some wood and raisins. Not a bad doppelbock.

22 oz. bottle. Pours almost black with a ½-inch creamy, tan head; wood overtones in the aroma and a slightly musty hint. Medium body. Somewhat sweet. Tastes of light coffee, roasty but smooth. Wood is very evident--even dominant. A solid, though Americanized, interpretation of the Doppelbock style.

Medium sized beige head with fair retention time. Dark, brown color with some ruby edging. Nose of fairly sweet malts, caramel notes and a bit grainy. Wood? Body is fully medium, lil oily with a soft carbonation. Mostly sweet malt flavors, lil dusty and earthy with caramel and light roast. Some sort of spicy hints goin on, wood? Sweet, somewhat sticky finish. More wood would of helped. Bomber from statelineliquors.
