The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice per barrel for this fall brew. We add the pumpkin during the mash at precisely the right time to create just the perfect balance of malt, hops, pumpkin and spice.

Poured a slightly red amber color with a thin off-white head that faded quickly. Aroma has lots of pumpkin and spices. Nutmeg and almonds. Taste is very creamy with lots of pumpkin and more nutmeg. Finish is a bit hoppy with more spices and some warming alcohol. Overall it’s slightly sweet, but the balance is still good. The finish is a little syrupy however. Overall a decent pumpkin beer.

750ml bottle split with some friends. A lot of pumpkin spice in the aroma, reminded me a lot of pumpkin cream pie, if such a thing exists. Compared to the BA version of this beer I’d probably say they’re just about equal.

Pours a clear orange/amber with a medium light tan head. Aroma has nice doughy notes, notable pumpkin, and just the right amount of spice. Flavor follows suit but adds caramel, a bit more spice, and a hint of booziness. Mouthfeel is oily with a boozy spiced finish that warms.

A decent pumpkin ale falls short of the pumking by Southern Tier IMO. A good pumkin palate will leave you satisfied.

Pours mildly hazy deep amber hazy liquid out of a 22 oz bomber bottle. Head is a small and disappearing quickly wreath of fine white bubbles. Nose is sweet pumpkin spice. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Mellow pumpkin aroma underneath as well. Body is on the thinner side of average with little texture. Taste is mellow pumpkin over a nice malty ale. Spice notes present but are not overpowering. Alcohol hit on the back end. A very nice beer.

22 oz. bottle from SoHo Organic Market in Elizabeth City, NC. Dark orange pour with a frothy white head. Aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg, mostly, with pumpkin in the background. Good balance of pumpkin flavor and the pumpkin pie spices although this is a bit more spice forward than I had hoped. Drinking an entire bottle is a lot for one person in my opinion. I still think this is an above average pumpkin ale, however, it just would be easier to drink in a smaller quantity or shared with someone.

Poured a very cloudy deep dark yellow/light orange with very light foam. Aroma is very heavy on spice and nutmeg, and not much else other than a little bit of pumpkin. The taste is very heavy on the spices, more akin to something during Christmas rather than fall. The pumpkin comes in as more of an aftertaste. Not a terribly complex beer, but definitely worth a try if you like something heavily spiced.
