3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours from a 22oz. bomber bottle a medium amber/orange color with a small head that quickly dissolved into a light lacing. The aroma is malty and slightly sweet, with hints of pumpkin pie spices and maybe just a hint of Alcohol. 1st sip brings a taste of pumpkin, malt, and spices. There is a strong bitterness on the finish from a combination of hops, alcohol & spice. The mouth feel is smooth and Medium Body. I notice some Pumpkin Ales choose to have the Pumpkin Taste as the Main Flavor, While others have it as the "Spice". I prefer the spice, and this one is somewhere in the middle. A Decent one, but not in the top 5.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours dark amber with off white head. Aroma is spice, cinnamon and nutmeg. Taste is a bit harsh and spicy, with cinnamon noted. There is a note of alcohol once this one warms. Finish is bitter and long. Overall and OK beer, but there are many better pumpkin ales. Too much spice for my liking. Cannot really taste the pumpkin.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: SEP 15, 2012 22oz bottle. Mildly hazy orange color, active-looking carbonation. Thin, nice off-white head, leaving a nice row of lacing. Great pumpkin nose, sweet, but not too much. You can actually taste the alcohol in this one, which isnít awful... it actually kind of works. Good, crisp carbonation, easy to drink. 6 / 4 / 7 / 4 / 14
Re-rate, 9/12/12: Thin off-white head. Clear darker orange color. Some lace. Almost a balance of pumpkin and spice. Smooth lighter carbonation. Dry texture. Spicy taste, light bitter. Light spicy bite. Cinnamon, nutmeg. Solid double pumpkin. Kegs Iím seeing this year are labeled as 9%, but bottles are still 8%, which is odd... 6 / 4 / 6 / 4 / 13

Bomber. Pours a nice orange amber with a decent head. Pleasing pumpkin and spice aroma -- genuine, not artificial and also not too much. Smooth in the mouth but also with carbonation. Nice finish. All around a good pumpkin choice.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA, opened 6/28/11. This has a bit of age on it. Pours a hazy orange color with gobs of floating matter. Large creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, squash, clove and other spices. The taste is pumpkin, brown sugar, pie spices, a bit of squash. Medium-full bodied. Cracking this the wrong season, but its quite nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Quite a bit of sediment poured out in this beer. Very little head and no lacing. Otherwise nicely clear beer. Very subtle aroma of pumpkin pie spices. Rich creamy mouthfeel, awesomely full bodied. The expected spice flavor is accompanied by vanilla and a bunch of alcohol. Aside from the strength of this beer it is easy drinking for this style of beer. Not over the edge rich like some that wear out your taste buds.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of pumpkin pie mixed with wet bread, almost a cinnamon mildew. After the glowing deScription of smell the beer is surprisingly good. Subtle hints of spice and a nice balance of malt. No real notes of hops in the brew. Color is a hazy orange. Not the best pumpkin on the market but drinkable. Slight alcohol burn on the finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Reviewed from notes.
Poured into a tulip. Appearance is fairly-dark orange with a white head and some pretty good lacing. Nose is pretty strong amounts of pumpkin as well as a bunch of spicing. Light sugar presence. Taste is a bit overspiced. Feel has a bit of extra spicing but fits pretty well balancing the sweetness. Drinks fairly well and is one of the nicer imperial pumpkins out there.
