COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice per barrel for this fall brew. We add the pumpkin during the mash at precisely the right time to create just the perfect balance of malt, hops, pumpkin and spice.

Bomber. Pours a nice orange amber with a decent head. Pleasing pumpkin and spice aroma -- genuine, not artificial and also not too much. Smooth in the mouth but also with carbonation. Nice finish. All around a good pumpkin choice.

(bomber, 11/7/10). Clear orange color, with particles suspended. Medium off white head. Moderate cinnamon and nutmeg aroma. Heavy spice flavor. Avg duration. Light alcohol finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

Bomber from Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg, VA, opened 6/28/11. This has a bit of age on it. Pours a hazy orange color with gobs of floating matter. Large creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of pumpkin, squash, clove and other spices. The taste is pumpkin, brown sugar, pie spices, a bit of squash. Medium-full bodied. Cracking this the wrong season, but its quite nice.

Quite a bit of sediment poured out in this beer. Very little head and no lacing. Otherwise nicely clear beer. Very subtle aroma of pumpkin pie spices. Rich creamy mouthfeel, awesomely full bodied. The expected spice flavor is accompanied by vanilla and a bunch of alcohol. Aside from the strength of this beer it is easy drinking for this style of beer. Not over the edge rich like some that wear out your taste buds.

bhiner41 (181) - La Grange, Illinois, USA - JUN 3, 2011
Aroma of pumpkin pie mixed with wet bread, almost a cinnamon mildew. After the glowing description of smell the beer is surprisingly good. Subtle hints of spice and a nice balance of malt. No real notes of hops in the brew. Color is a hazy orange. Not the best pumpkin on the market but drinkable. Slight alcohol burn on the finish.

Reviewed from notes. Poured into a tulip. Appearance is fairly-dark orange with a white head and some pretty good lacing. Nose is pretty strong amounts of pumpkin as well as a bunch of spicing. Light sugar presence. Taste is a bit overspiced. Feel has a bit of extra spicing but fits pretty well balancing the sweetness. Drinks fairly well and is one of the nicer imperial pumpkins out there. 22oz bomber poured in snifter. Hazy burnt orange color with thin, creamy head that dissipates quickly. Aroma is full of cream, toasty/bready notes, and caramel. Taste is great with pumpkin, nutmeg, and other spices before giving way to a creamy dry finish. Boozey all the way through and nice on the palate too. Good beer.

22 ounce bottle. Pours slightly hazy orange color with a foamy 2 finger white head with average retention that reduces to a very thin cap. Aromas of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and brown sugar. Taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and some clove; with the pumpkin flavors in the background with some pie crust noticed. The finish is fairly dry, but there is some lingering notes of sweetness, with some spices. No bitterness noticed, but it fits this style perfectly. Alcohol was very well hidden, only a very small warming after the finish noticed. Quite drinkable because of the good flavor, and very smooth going down. Medium carbonation and body. I was actually letting this sit in the fridge for a while, afraid to try it, because I didn’t know what to expect. Most pumpkin beers can be done very badly, but this one is done very well, and I would definitely have it again. Delicious.

Clear light orange pour with a small white head. Pumpkin spice aroma. The flavor is lightly sweet with some spice. No hops either in the flavor or aroma. Better than most.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off-white head. Aroma of fresh pumpkins, cinnamon, nutmeg and caramel. Flavor was sweet pumpkin pie, caramel, heavy cinnamon, nutmeg and some malty sweetness.
