COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice per barrel for this fall brew. We add the pumpkin during the mash at precisely the right time to create just the perfect balance of malt, hops, pumpkin and spice.

Poured a nice Med copper, into my St bernardus chalice Smell was a little spicy, but i get very little if any pumpkin, Taste is of clove and nutmeg,at the start, finishes very sweet with a nice spicy aftertaste of honey ginger and all spice The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice they use per barrel I think its a nice balance of malt, hops, and spice but as with most pumpkin beers i just dont get the amount of pumpkin i think should be there! overall a nice fall beer!

Another pumpkin beer shared by emacgee. Thanks dude. Tasted much like the last with the usual suspects- nutmeg, allspice, pumpkin. Better than the last, but I would never drink this voluntarily.

A hearty (8% ABV) but pretty under-whelming pumpkin beer. Appearance is an orange murkiness with not much head. The flavor was pretty decent, but this beer seemed to have hardly any carbonation, and rather than being rich in mouthfeel like some other low-carbonation beers (Imperial Stouts), this beer came off as flat and kind of uninspired. But, the aroma and flavor were pretty good - lots of spice but somehow not quite as pumpkin-y as other really good pumpkin beers. I really like the pumpkin beer genre, and have had quite a few this year, and my three favorites are Southern Tier Pumking, Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin, and Hoppin’ Frog Imperial Pumpkin. This beer is nowhere near as good as those three, but is still a pretty enjoyable. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it, but I thought it OK. I bought this beer at Blacklick liquors in Blacklick (near Reynoldsburg, outside Columbus), OH.

Bottle from Crown#6. Pours cloudy/crystal dark orange with rising bubbles and minimal white head. Nose is slight pumpkin spice and some spicy hops. Taste is relatively smooth, slightly carbonated, slight pumpkin flavor and a decent amount of hops. A little odd overall, not my favorite pumpkin brew.

draft came with an amber color and a thin off white head. aroma has plenty of pie spices, light hops, and wet herbs. mouth feel is a little light and the carbonation on the low side. flavor as in the aroma is dominated by the spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, mild bitter hops, brown sugar, and some vegetable.

really spicy aroma- nutmeg and cinnamon. Like egg nog on the nose- moutghfeel is very dry and fizzy. Not too much flavor, definitely not of pumpkin. I expected a lot more in this. Overall thin.

22oz. pours a hazey copper with thin off white head. aroma has some malt and a touch of pumpkin pie spices. mouthful has a tone of spice put it is hard to find the pumpkin. seems a bit over spiced as the spices linger on a long finish. I love the pumpkin ales... but i like more pumpkin in the mix.

(bomber, 11/7/10). Clear orange color, with particles suspended. Medium off white head. Moderate cinnamon and nutmeg aroma. Heavy spice flavor. Avg duration. Light alcohol finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation. Spare lacing.

22oz bomber bottle. Pour is a hazy dark orange with a thin off-white head. Aroma is full of spice with small notes of pumpkin and light alcohol. Up front, the palette is splashed with spices and mild hop bitterness. The pumpkin comes in about halfway with a booziness that kind of washes the good flavor away. No lacing at all. Overall, it’s a solid offering, but would like even more if the alcohol was dialed down to create better balance in the mouth feel.

Pours a dark orange with some light white head. Smells like spices and banana and tastes of spices pumpkin and is syrupy sweet ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
