COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The secret is in the 2.5 pounds of spice per barrel for this fall brew. We add the pumpkin during the mash at precisely the right time to create just the perfect balance of malt, hops, pumpkin and spice.

Hazy orange with a medium beige head. Spicy aroma with cinnamon and pumpkins. Flavour had punpkins, cinnamon and and malty hints.

Most "pumpkin" beers strike me as really "pie spice" beers. And this one really commits - you might as well call it a clove beer. It is balanced and not too sweet, two things I can’t say about a lot of other spice beers. But that big punch of clove in every sip gets old fast. I will say it’s an interesting beer to eat dinner with.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2010 If this beer were a cookie or maybe coffee, it would be good. Nutmeg....lots of nutmeg. Not all that good.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small paperthin white head. The aroma is nutmeg and spice. Light spice and cinammon. Not much going on with this one.

Bottle from SL. The pour was amber to copper, weak head. The aroma was strong spices, nutmeg indeed, some cinammon, faint pumpkin. The flavor followed, too much spice, strong malts, sweet, this being a bit underwhelming from a brewer whose Heavy Seas brews I thought I liked more. Mouthfeel moderate for the abv and style. Meh.

Bottle. Bleh. Pours a slightly darker amber color with a moderate head. Too spicy and "pumpkiny" for my tastes. I like these a bit more muted.

1pt 6fl oz. Bottle Thanks to DChmela and his Super Sixpack Shipper. Nice frothy pour with a huge nose full of cinnamon and spice. Dark amber hazy appearence. Bold spice flavor with a coppery finish. Nice label but there are better pumpkins out there. Happy 100 Ratings! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Pours orange with medium head. All I can smell here is nutmeg. Flavor follows with unbearable nutmeg that takes my breath away. This was a drain pour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
