In the most worthy of pumpkin patches and during the silence of the midnight hour, the Greater Pumpkin raises up and pours a rich deep and burnished orange color. Heady aromas of bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, allspice and clove linger seductively over the thick white head of this tremendous brew. Its love at first sip as the full malt body, dominated by British crystal malt, brown sugar and pumpkin, slowly washes over your tongue. Bourbon barrel aging rounds out the flavors with notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon. Pairs well with crisp autumn weather, crunchy fallen leaves, and the knowledge that your kids will be asleep soon so you can raid their Halloween candy bags.

Previously 9% abv under the Mutiny Fleet series.

1pint 6oz bottle. Pours a clear orange colour with a thin tan head. I never thought I would be saying this about a pumpkin beer, but this is beautiful. I love it! The bourbon barrels have left their fingerprints all over this beer. The nose is big oak, buttery vanilla bourbon barrels up front, with light fruity notes, spice, and butterscotch. The taste is more of the same. Though this is a pumpkin beer, the barrels take the forefront taste wise too. Caramel, oak notes up front followed by decent bitterness, alcohol, table syrup notes, a light cherry flavour, graham cracker, and very, very light pumpkin and pumpkin spice notes. This beer is entirely a showcase for the bourbon barrels, and it doe so VERY well. This is delicious. Beer nectar.

Tap. Foamy light eggshell head, hazier amber orange. Woody, pumpkin pie spices; clove and vanilla and slight bourbon sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is only slightly sweet, with pumpkin spices, clove, vanilla cream, and bourbon is kinda missing but woody. Lighter to medium soft body.

Poured a darker orange with an off white head. Aroma was lots of oak, whiskey, and pumpkin spice. Taste was barrel dominant, but spices definitely there. Just kinda of a strnage blend of flavors.

Draft. Hazy golden amber color, whitebhead. Paired with fried chicken and waffles, but surprisingly it was not a good combo, mainly because of the sweetness and heavy spice of the beer. So that’s it, that’s my rating. Too sweet and too much spice.

The aroma is pumpkin, pie spice, bourbon. The appearance is clear amber, wwhite head. The flavor is pumpkin, bourbon, spices, caramel. The finish is piney, bourbon. Bourbon is restrained, complements a mediocre pumpkin beer nicely. Medium in body, syrupy in mouthfeel. Good overall.

Bomber->SA. Cloudy dark orange with big offwhite head. A: holiday spices, whiskey, cinnamon. T: bourbon-infused pumpkin pie. Interesting, and one of the very best pumpkin beers that I have had.

moar pumpkinssssssssss. this one pours medium amber with a quick cream colored head. nose is of bourbon, nutmeg, and cinnamon. the bourbon transfers straight to the palate with some oak. this is more my speed, but as a "pumpkin ale" it lacks. who cares?

Growler from Cumming Growler Shop. Pours a hazy amber with a thick frothy ivory head. Aroma of burbon, burnt vanilla beans, nutmeg, and pumpkin cookies. Taste is of faint burbon barrels, burnt vanilla beans, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice. A delicious Pumpkin beers. Nice cinnamon tingle with a subtle alcohol burn on the finish.

Bottle shared, pours a deep orange color with off white head. The nose is pumpkin joy joy. Clove, wood, bourbon and earthiness. The flavor is omfgwow. The bourbon flavor along with the spice mix and pumpkin is so well balanced. This one is so good. The earthiness and spice mix with the pumpkin is off the chart good. The just adds an extra warmth.

9/25/13. 22oz bottle from Five Points. Clear orange amber pour with a nice khaki head that cuts in half but laces pretty well. Sweet, bready aroma - the pumpkin spice makes it smell like pumpkin bread in a way - with touches of bourbon that make it smell even sweeter... ugh. Sweet flavor, but not as bad as I was expecting, with caramel, mild squash, balanced pumpkin spices, not too over the top thankfully, and just a touch of bourbon barrel. Not bad.
