Bottle; Pour is murky golden with a fine bubbled off white head in this glass; light, spotty lacing is present here. The nose is earthy oak / bourbon dominant. The flavor profile begins with the vanilla / oak / light bourbon notes. The base beer , which I just had , brings in the spicy pumpkin notes, with a light bitter hop note near the finish. I don’t feel like this beer blends amazingly well - but It was a nice attempt

Ok, this is more like it. Most of the pumkin beers I’ve had this year were heavy on the spices, light on the earthy pumpkin flavors, but not this one. Pours amber/orange with a decent white head. Aroma is very spicy, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla, kinda sour. The taste is even better - lots of squashy pumpkin, spices like vanilla and nutmeg, oakey vanilla, caramel. Finishes sour and kinda citrusy. Its got a lot going on and I wouldn’t want to drink more than one, but taken in a small amount it was great.

Shared with Sammy. Orange pour with a fairly big head. Pumpkin pie spices, vanilla, cinnamon and a bit of wood in the nose. Taste was fantastic - Pumpkin pie with vanilla, a bit of allspice, cinnamon - barrel integrated perfectly here. Wouldn’t drink more than one but a great way to end a October session.

Cask. Pours hazy orange with a small, bubbly off-white head, short retention with light lacing. Aroma is smooth bourbon, vanilla, oak, pumpkin and spices, and caramel malt. Flavor is pumpkin, heavy spices, caramel and biscuit malt, no bitterness or hops, smooth bourbon, and a dry finish. Full body, medium warmth, low carbonation.

One of the better pumpkin beers we have had, among a great 2011 crop. Bottle picked up in New york. Orange body, with bright tastes of orange, ginger, cinammon. Very fresh tasting although aged from last year. This ageing led to a balance and a dangerous smooth drinking. Bourbon added complexity without taking over or feeling boozy.

Orange color with white head. Sweet aroma with pumpkin, cinnamon, bourbon, and vanilla. Sweet spicy flavor with cinnamon and nutmeg standing out followed by vanilla and bourbon flavors. The high alcohol flavor is apparent but not overpowering. This is another good beer from heavy seas.

12 oz draft pours a orange/amber color with a nice white head. Aroma of pumpkin, vanilla, and spice. Medium bodied, a little boozy, but still good

Orange pour, good head. Pumpkin aroma. About a perfect blend of bourbon and pumpkin. I usually don’t like bourbon aged and I usually hate pumpkin ales, bit I really liked this. Sweet, but balanced by the bourbon burn. Damned good.

Cumquat and orange aroma. Hazy orange, thin yellow head, some floaties. Alcohol is very prominent, fullish body. Triple sec flavor with a decidedly sour cumquat presence. Once the initial sourness subsides, subtle pumpkin and nutmeg notes appear. Finishes with light orange peel. Not overly spiced, well hopped, too hot, too sour. Either I appreciate it more once I get used to it or it genuinely improves upon warming. Certainly unusual, but I’m not a fan.
