Bottle courtesy of ryan. Milky orange with a thin white head. Big pumpkin pie spice nose. Flavor is pumpkin spice with nice undertones of bourbon, and vanilla. Didn’t really notice any oak aroma or flavor though.

Poured a clear orange, with a finger’s worth of frothy head. Aroma is very heavy on spices like ginger and nutmeg, almost makes one think of an early christmas. Taste definitely tastes like a mixture of holiday spices and a nice pumpkin pie. The body is a bit weaker than some of the other imperial pumpkin beers. The bourbon barrels combine with the spices to create a light and well balanced feeling of a nice burn in the back of the throat. Quite enjoyable.

When I took my first smell of this beer I really loved what it brought to the table. The bourbon was their but it’s rather subdued in the aroma. Instead hints of vanilla come through with a stronger aroma of cinnamon and other spices. Of course the pumpkin is there too.
My initial thoughts of this beer totally changed though when I took the first sip. It was a total bourbon bomb. Alcohol warmed my throat all the way down to my stomach. The alcohol and bourbon had washed away everything else that was in the smell. The good thing though is that the next sips and the finishing ones were totally different. It’s like the beer wants the bourbon to totally take your taste buds at first but then let in all the other stuff. The bourbon was still their, it’s not going away, but the spices come through more and more as you drink. Cinnamon and nutmeg. The vanilla lingers on the tongue and the pumpkin comes through nicely on the after taste.
The mouthfeel is smooth and oily. Medium bodied. If it wasn’t for the strong alcohol taste and feel this might go down a little bit easier.

On tap at Capones. As Damico would (and did) say "It’s boozy as f.ck!" but I like it despite the fact that it is essentially pumpkin flavored bourbon (perhaps exaggeration). Pours an amber orange color with white foam head. Has a sweet pumpkin spice and oak aroma. Sweet caramel taste with an early and often hit of bourbon. Decent.

Really really good pumpkin beer, and great well balanced flavor. Full body and very smooth to the palate, great pumpkin flavor. Good nutmeg and cloves, really a great fall spice ale. Bourbon is present but not dominant, gives a nice balance and smoothness. Strongly recommended.

Shared with Sammy. Orange pour with a fairly big head. Pumpkin pie spices, vanilla, cinnamon and a bit of wood in the nose. Taste was fantastic - Pumpkin pie with vanilla, a bit of allspice, cinnamon - barrel integrated perfectly here. Wouldn’t drink more than one but a great way to end a October session.

Strange brew. Yeah its ugly. Sounds like a weird combo, whisky and pumpkin ale. It actually works though! After you get past the sweetness of the pumpkin brew, cinnamon and nutmeg the whisky kicks in and kinda, sorta balances everything out. Not bad. Its still ugly but it just kinda gets better as you go. I dont know. 9%? Wow. Straaaange brew, girl whats inside of you?? Bomber procured @statelineliquors.

One of the better pumpkin beers we have had, among a great 2011 crop. Bottle picked up in New york. Orange body, with bright tastes of orange, ginger, cinammon. Very fresh tasting although aged from last year. This ageing led to a balance and a dangerous smooth drinking. Bourbon added complexity without taking over or feeling boozy.

Bomber poured a hazy amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of bourbon, pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice and clove. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of pumpkin, bourbon, carmel, cinnamon, allspice and clove with a smooth dry lingering spiced finish.
