1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 blindeyedbetty (189) - Utah, USA - JAN 3, 201022 oz. bottle pours a cloudy orange-ish color with a moderate amount of fine, wispy head. Aroma is heavy and sweet, of candied fruit, honey and bread. Low carbonation but sickly sweet with a strong flavor of clove. Now I remember why I got so sick when I smoked those clove cigarettes in junior high school.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Beerathon (590) - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Deep orange with very thin head, slight lacing. Not as carbonated as I typically like my trippels to be. Belgian candied sugar is evident, very sweet. Trappist yeast gives it the needed Belgian feel. Not much of an aroma. Okay for the style.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20 DoublEE (509) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Overall quality is poor, a big beer 10% abv with too much fusel alcohol and rough flavors to cohesively recognize as a quality tripel.

Hazy copper in appearance with a small off-white head. Aroma is of dried fruits, spicy yeast, and candi sugar. Flavor has a nice subtle bready yeast backbone throughout. Dried fruits and sugary malts peak through as well. Medium to heavy bodied, good carbonation levels.

5/30/12. 22oz bomber. Hazy orange pour with a small khaki head. Huge fruity aroma with bits of sour and candy sugar. Tamer flavor with more fruitiness and bold malt and sugar. A tad sweet and fruity.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jkwood04 (2288) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 28, 2012
22oz bottle in a Trappist glass. Pours deep copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, caramel malts, and a bit of floral hops. Flavor the same, with the sugar a little overpowering. Average texture. A decent beer but not the best of its style.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fiveacestx (351) - Texas, USA - MAY 23, 2012

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ChainGangGuy (4121) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - MAY 7, 2012
22 ounce bottle - $5.99 at Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours out a ever so slightly hazed, dark gold body with a foamy, barely off-white head.
Smell: Spicy, sweetish nose housing notes of Granny Smith apple slices, faux berries, gum, pineapple packed in heavy syrup, and a clearing shot of ethanol.
Taste: Sugar encrusted pale, grainy malts with a big splash of green apple cider. Then, a bit of strawberry gum, peppercorns, and a hit of fairly warming alcohol. Also, some pineapple along with a big rebound of sweetness. Slightly acidic throughout. Sweetish, warm, fruity finish with more of that chewing gum accent riding out leisurely into the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus body. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Yule Tide falls somewhere between "acceptable" and "okay," which, to be honest, exceeded my expectations.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 gsmitty80 (1588) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 7, 2012
2011 bottle. Very thick but in a good way. There was a nice lacing down the glass and the alcohol did not drown it out. I rarely enjoy Tripels as much as i did this one.
