3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 lcwakshul (244) - Chester, Maryland, USA - MAR 27, 2011Bottle in a Pils glass at Paladar Latin Kitchen in Annapolis. Dark brown pour with tan head. Caramel and coffee aroma. Does not taste very imperial to me. Higher alcohol aside, it doesn’t have the strong roasty characteristics or the heavy mouth feel. Still not bad for a stout.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JHeath99 (34) - - JUN 15, 2013
Draft at brewery. Slight notes of chocolate on the aroma. Dark brown in appearance with light frothy head. Taste of chocolate and hints of coffee.

Bottle. Taste is chocolate covered cherries, fudge, booze, malt and grain. Complex and interesting.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 phikus01 (89) - New York, USA - JUN 3, 2013
Not a bad imperial stout. Bland black malt aroma, just don’t smell or taste any roasted malt. No alcohol detection, I like at least a little warmth from this style. More like a dry stout than imperial.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Capa (1908) - Manama, BAHRAIN - MAY 31, 2013
Dark with a small, dark head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malts, and a bit of bourbon. Medium, smooth mouth. Flavor is full of roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, and a bit of dark fruit. Pretty good brew.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 solidfunk (1919) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 27, 2013
Pours strange, almost like coca-cola, with the instant fizziness and same colour. Aroma of roast malt and a little hops. Very underwhelming for style, but it isn’t entirely undrinkable. Just not that great for what it should be. Fizzy, highly carbonated texture with a bit of oiliness. Bottle.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 snoworsummer (461) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 11, 2013
Draft at the brewery. Pours dark opaque brown with a fizzy tan head. Tastes like coffee beans, burnt toast, and alcohol Smells like cereal and coffee. Medium body and medium carbonation.

Milk chocolaty goodness. Smooth. No alcohol hotness. Pours pitch with samml ring of tan head. Aromas of bosco and some hoppy resins. Very nice balance. All flavor no flash.
3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CharmCityCrab (110) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 23, 2013
Somewhat hoppier, significantly boozier, version of an Irish dry stout. Maltier than a Guinness, but comporable malt wise to some craft dry Irish stouts I’ve had with that same flavor of sweet malt they usually have, and of course some roasted malt present also.
2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 umich03jm (984) - Allen Park, Michigan, USA - APR 22, 2013
Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a small head that quickly fades. Pleasant aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Taste is very disappointing though. There is some chocolate and caramel there but it’s buried below a sweet sugar water taste. Bitter coffee shows up in the finish but it’s still so sweet and off-putting. Thin and watery mouthfeel. Not very good.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 chalicemaster (45) - Ohio, USA - APR 15, 2013
Aroma is roasted coffee and not much else, poured light and dark with an attractive golden head that faded very fast. As expected, the taste from sip to swallow is coffee, hints of chocolate and a vague (but inoffensive) malty sensation. This is perfectly nice, and given the price I think I’d probably drink it again. Heavy Seas are good at brewing enjoyable, affordable craft beers.
