Peg Leg pours like a dark like a cola but with a foamy head. Its aroma is dominated by malt. Toffee and caramel is also evident. It is a rich and creamy beer with a pleasant mouthfeel. There is some bitterness to it but not a lot. There is also a subtle zing but ostlly it is sweet malts.

Bottle. Dark roasted malt, molasses, chocolate, hops aroma. Dark brown with a small tan head. Coffee, chocolate, molasses, anise flavor with a tart and light bitter finish. Medium body, lively carbonation. Rather acidic and light for an imperial stout, more like a porter.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 PhillyCraft (657) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 10, 2012
12 oz Bottle. Dark brown pour with brown head, small head and lacing. Aromas are roasted malt, molasses, soy, nuts. Taste is milk chocolate with a roasted fruit aftertaste. Mouthfeel is kind of light for stout and a little too carbonated for my liking. This was an alright brew from Heavy Seas out of MD. I would reccomend their Loose Cannon (IPA) and Yule Tide (Triple) when they are in season.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 mansquito (1826) - washington, Washington DC, USA - MAY 9, 2012
Chevy Chase, DC 12oz ($2.50): Pours a black colour with a small head. Aroma is just roasted malts and molasses. Taste is really sweet. Mouthfeel is really thick and syrupy. Roasted malts shine through. Hops are kept on the down low. Even though Imperial Stouts are not really my style of choice, this one
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Onenote81 (902) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 25, 2012
Originally reviewed: 2/23/09. Pours a deep brownish black with about a half inch tan head on top. Retention was lacking. Decent webbing on glass edge. No sip rings. Smelled of espresso, slight cocoa, some citrus, and bread.
Creamy mouthfeel. Velvety smoothness coats the palate as this is sipped. Taste is pretty underwhelming. Comes across more like a regular stout rather than a RIS. Some hints of cocoa and coffee, finishes slightly tart. Very easy to drink. Nothing horrible about this beer, but nothing that spectacular either.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Marheb (675) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 11, 2012

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 SlovakSniper (1373) - Candiac, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 25, 2012

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dreadnord (330) - Castel Volturno, ITALY - FEB 3, 2012
Pours black, with a small tan head. Nose is vanilla with some spice. Aromas of coffee and chocolate drift in and out. The taste is weak for an imperial stout. watered down. Mostly sweet. Mouthfeel is soft and creamy, aftertaste is weak.
