COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer is a dry Imperial Stout - creamy and rich with color as black as night. It has aromas of roasted coffee and dark chocolate, hints of molasses, toffee and caramel in the taste. Clipper City will produce only a small batch, so availability is extremely limited. IBUíS: 30 Malts: Crisp English Pale, Crisp Crystal, Chocolate and Roasted Barley Hops: Styrian Goldings, Fuggles Magnum and Amarillo

12 ounce bottle- pours out opaque brown with a nice dark orange head. Aroma was sharp; coffee and malt. Nice toasty taste. Strong on coffee notes and not too sweet. This had a pretty thin palate for a stout, the only thing that kept it from a higher rating. Enjoyed it.

Bottle. Black with a small brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate. Light body with malt, fruit, coffee, and a medium sweetness. Pretty good but not amazing.

In a world where pirates are the coolest thing ever, this beer stands out in that it is labeled with a pirate name. This is a great imperial stout. My only concern is that itís a little thin for what it is, and itís complexity is a little lacking for the "imperial" name. Itís a great stout, and like everything from heavy seas is worth a try.

Draft Sample. Pours like a stout looks like a stout. Kinda meh aroma and meh taste. It is dry on the finish but also fairly bland. Not offending just not very exciting either.

Really much better than the rest of reviews here give it credit for. Coffee and chocolate flavors are heavyweight. Mouthfeel is thinner than youíd like given the flavor. But to be honest Iíve never found a stout I didnít like...

Cask (with Pimento Wood and Soft Maple Wood selected by ChurchKey staff) at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours dark brownish black with around half a finger of light tan head. Aromas of wood, caramel, maple syrup, chocolate, dark fruit. Tasting notes of dark fruit, chocolate, caramel, wood, toffee, light booze. Medium-light body with a warm semi-dry finish.
