COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Riptide white IPA is a beer brewed with a malt body similar to a Belgian style Wit with loads of torrified wheat. It’s hopped like an IPA, but we use a unique blend of Czech Saaz, French Strisselspalt, Calypso, Centennial and Cascade hops to create a big citrus nose and flavor with floral accents. To complete the feel of the wit style, we push the beer through our hopback which is loaded with Spanish sweet orange peel, Curaçao bitter orange peel, coriander, and a generous helping of hops. It’s fermented with a classic Belgian Wit yeast which provides all of the fruity and spicy notes you’d expect. We then blast the tank with our hop cannon which is loaded with Calypso, Strisselspalt, and Citra hops and more orange peel. The beer is then lightly filtered to retain all of the exceptional yeast character.

Pours a clear golden amber with a few bubbles rising within and a fairly thick, if not too persistent, ivory head. Hoppy aroma has a fruity overtone and a hint of - what? Ah, must be the spices. Herbal notes dominate the hoppy flavor, which has a nice orange tone and a hint of malt. Firm, smooth texture has a subtle tingle and leaves a hoppy, herbal finish. Get caught in this riptide!

Very hazy light orange body with foamy head. Aroma of bitter orange, floral, citrus, very Belgian-yeasty. Taste of orange, yeast, wheat. Palate yeasty and orangey. I hate Belgians, so to me this was fairly disgusting, but as a marriage of Wit and IPA it’s probably spot-on.

BBOTMC. Pours golden with a huge off-white head, aroma of lemon, guava, some hoppy citrus tones, flavor of malt, wheat, hops, slightly bitter and alcoholic, medium bodied

12oz bottle poured into a tumbler glass. Turbid deep yellow with a small white head. Yeasty nose, with heavy orange, citric hops and some soap. Juicy citrus hop flavors, medium bitterness, lots of fruit, and tangy wheat. Medium bodied, refreshing, somewhat too alcoholic but overall OK.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-amber color with a large creamy-soapy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was musty, peppery, dusty and had a bit of funk and earthy hops. The flavor was bitter, tart, lemon, musty, dusty, black pepper, funk and earthy hops. Long musty and funky lemon and pepper finish.Moderately full bodied. Decent.

Bottle. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, coriander, citrus peels, yeast, fruity esters and a bit of hops, floral and a bit citric. Sweetish and spicy flavor with wheat, some fruitiness, coriander, light graininess and a rather bitter finish with some hops and more spiciness. Medium-bodied. Decent and kinda refreshing. More like a slightly hoppy Witbier than a White IPA. Could use more hops.

Yeasty aroma of candied bananas and white pepper. Hazy yellow appearance, looks lie kolsch oddly. Taste is that of a typical wit...spice and citrus - only with an especially bitter edge. Light body yet sort of prickly. Really a wheat beer rather than an IPA.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 9/2013. Pours very cloudy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big lemon zest, pear, apple, orange peel, light banana, coriander, clove, pepper, floral, grass, wheat, bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of yeast and hop notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon zest, pear, apple, orange peel, coriander, clove, light banana, pepper, floral, grass, light pine, wheat, bubblegum, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, citrus peel, coriander, clove, light banana, pepper, floral, grass, wheat, bubblegum, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice balance and complexity of hop, spice, and yeast ester flavors; with a solid malt backbone and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice White IPA! All around nice balance and complexity of hop, spice, and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Strong Belgian yeast, wheat malt, orange, black pepper, clove, and coriander aroma. Hazy straw gold with a large dense off-white head. Very fruity, orange, wheat malt, Belgian yeast, citrus peel, coriander, black pepper, and herbal hops flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation. There’s a lot going on in this one .. nicely done.

Orange yellow pour with a soapy white head. Aroma of spice, lemon, orange, and hop. Belgian yeast, lemon, orange, pine, and hop flavor. Quite nice.
