COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Riptide white IPA is a beer brewed with a malt body similar to a Belgian style Wit with loads of torrified wheat. It’s hopped like an IPA, but we use a unique blend of Czech Saaz, French Strisselspalt, Calypso, Centennial and Cascade hops to create a big citrus nose and flavor with floral accents. To complete the feel of the wit style, we push the beer through our hopback which is loaded with Spanish sweet orange peel, Curaçao bitter orange peel, coriander, and a generous helping of hops. It’s fermented with a classic Belgian Wit yeast which provides all of the fruity and spicy notes you’d expect. We then blast the tank with our hop cannon which is loaded with Calypso, Strisselspalt, and Citra hops and more orange peel. The beer is then lightly filtered to retain all of the exceptional yeast character.

Bottle. Pours clear orange with a lot of sediment, small white head. The aroma is full of lemon zest, pepper, yeasty funk, some floral notes. The taste is sweet orange, light spice, light hoppy notes. Good brew.

Pours a cloudy yellow. Nose is sweet grapefruit with underlying butteriness. Flavor starts a bit sweet for an IPA., but quickly becomes very peppery. Different, but nothing that exciting.

12 ounce bottle. Orange body. Orange zest. Yeasty. Far more wit than IPA with this kind of flavor profile. Spicy.

Pours a hazy orange yellow with an off-white foamy head. Floral, citrus and spicy notes mix together to give a distinct Belgian tone. The taste is smooth sweetness upfront followed by floral and dry citrus notes. Finishing with a peppery finish. Complex and interesting. Good once and a while. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a beautiful hazy, orange golden color with just a fingers worth of foam. Loose white bubbles that fell quickly to a thin film and ring. Fine lace covers the entire glass. Very pretty. Nose is a blend of hop delight and Belgian character. Yeast, spice and herbal. There’s ripe peach, a little tangy, some tangerine, pepper to tickle the nose and floral. Malt is sugary and bright. Toasted. There’s a hint of corriander and it reaches complex. The taste is an outrageous combination of two worlds. Hop forward, your first sip greets you with delicious ripe fruit. Plenty juicy and sweet. Peach, tangerine and some pink grapefruit. There’s a hint of tartness. Then the light sweet bread from the malt comes over the mid palate to bring a supple wheat dryness. The body is smooth, lush and vibrant. It’s even kind of creamy and the carbonation is soft. The kick you get is from the yeasty spice and the pepper. The slight sour from the yeast and the wheat dryness are a perfect match for the sweet fruit. It finishes with a moderate bitter, semi dry and with a light pine resin. Herbal with plenty of wheat and light bread.

What a delectable beer. It’s spirited. Rambunctious but not overly forceful or conceited. It’s the happy collision of two fantastic worlds where the characteristics of an IPA meet a proper Belgian. Poised and unique this is my first white IPA and I love the style. It’s graceful but fun loving.

Last night worked @#$%^&* late for a buddy and the phones @#$%^&* rang constantly. This helped. Poured a small white head, decent retention and lace. hazy gold hued brew. Spicy wit in the nose. Light bodied, good carbonation. tastes like a Wit and IPA like it should.

Sampled side by side with New Holland White Hatter and Great Divide Heyday. This was the favorite. Clear golden pour with the smallest offwhite head of the group. Clean and refreshing nose of coriander and orange peel. Flavor has the bitterness of the orange peel but with a nice hop spiciness for balance. Also finishes with the most fruitiness of the group.
