Riptide white IPA is a beer brewed with a malt body similar to a Belgian style Wit with loads of torrified wheat. It’s hopped like an IPA, but we use a unique blend of Czech Saaz, French Strisselspalt, Calypso, Centennial and Cascade hops to create a big citrus nose and flavor with floral accents. To complete the feel of the wit style, we push the beer through our hopback which is loaded with Spanish sweet orange peel, Curaçao bitter orange peel, coriander, and a generous helping of hops. It’s fermented with a classic Belgian Wit yeast which provides all of the fruity and spicy notes you’d expect. We then blast the tank with our hop cannon which is loaded with Calypso, Strisselspalt, and Citra hops and more orange peel. The beer is then lightly filtered to retain all of the exceptional yeast character.

Bottle [12oz]. Pours a nice looking slightly hazy gold with an average size long-lasting frothy off-white head. Lacing on the glass. Pleasant aroma of citrus and other fruit, light hops, herbs and yeast. Flavour of fruit first followed by wheat, yeast, hops and herbs. Long moderate bitter finish. Average bodied. A nice surprise, I quite liked this, a nice Summer sipper.

Bottled. Cloudy golden pour with a fine white head. Head faded fast but left a decent amount of lace in the glass. Lots of yeast esters in the nose--cloves, Juicy Fruit gum. Biscuity malt. Biscuit malt, yeasty esters prominent as in the nose. Nice, spicy hop aftertaste balances the malt and yeast notes. Lots of Juicy Fruit gum, mango in the finish. Medium full body Very tasty. I didn't really pick up on any spices per se, maybe a little coriander in the finish, but that was about it. This is a very yeast forward beer. Nice and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy from my iPad.

Aromas of flowers, citrus fruit, banana, coriander, and orange peel. Hazy orange-peach with a mostly fading, white head. Dry, fruity, and floral, with dominant flavors of banana and orange rind. Light bodied, smooth, and spicy, with fluffy carbonation, and a fruity finish, with some lingering astringent off-flavors.

I really enjoyed this brew. It has a sweet almost root beer like aroma. The flavor has a clean sweet up front and a nice hop bite. Finishes crisp and clean. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the bocktown. looks like hefe but the smell is hefe and ipa perfume. Odd spicey olfactory. Smell is that of BO and banana. On the buds, this mix does not go well together IMHO. Think bubble gum flavored hops. Not impressed.

12oz bottle (best by Aug 2013) - pours hazy deep gold with white head and decent lacing. Nose is wheat with citrus. Flavor adds alcohol, herbal hops and mild cereal. Well balanced with a lingering bitterness. I could get used to white IPA’s. I don’t get the spicy notes the label suggests, but I do get the orange peel. Not as refreshing as I would expect. Tap pour - @ JoJo's. Pours hazy yellow-gold, nice big fluffy head, thick and lasting. Nice mix of spice, bananas, and hops on the nose. Citrus. Saison on the taste, white pepper, clove, oranges with spice and good hoppy bitter finish. Lighter bodied, nice summer sipping' IPA.

12oz bottle. Best before 9/2013. Mostly clear golden orange color. Mildly hazy with lots of fine particles in the body. Thin off-white head. Decent lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation, sort of a light creaminess to the texture, more dry in the finish. Lightly spicy coriander in the nose, some wit-yeast. Orange, other citrus flavors. Some light spicy, herbal hop notes. Zesty sweet taste, light bitter. Pretty solid, satisfyingly complex white IPA.
