COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This yearís Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout has been revamped. Weíve aged it for three weeks in bourbon barrels, which gives the beer darker notes of raisin and fig. Weíve also tripled the amount of chocolate nibs and added vanilla bean. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolateyóbut without being extraordinarily sweet. Mt. Hood hops contribute a fruity hop profile, with notes of black currant.

Pours black with a nice tan head. Aroma is chocolate with a little booze. Taste is bitter chocolate upfront but gets sweeter as it goes. A little hoppy bitterness at the end. Very chocolate taste but not too sweet as advertised. Very good imperial stout!

on tap @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Aroma of toasted malt and bourbon. Opaque black color, dark tan head, streamers of lace. Taste is slightly bitter roasted malt that slips through a slightly carbonated swallow to chocolate that begins semi-sweet, then becomes sweeter as it glides to a beautiful rich chocolate finish. I smelled alcohol, but it stays in the background while drinking. Unusual in that the bitter is followed by sweet, but no matter - this is a silky smooth, full-bodied beer that has great complexity and balance. Worth the search.

Aroma caramel, chocolate, roasty, vanilla, Appearance brown, black, tan foam, Taste medium sweetness, lightly bitter, Palate medium body, Overall a very well balanced barrel aged stout. In my opinion this would be a great beer for someone who has never had a barrel aged stout. Itís not overwhelming but still lets you know it is a barrel aged beer. I would suggest this beer to a friend.

Back Log. Bottle Gift from Matt Rementer. Couldnít remember the name. This was just okay for me. Strong notes of burnt malt. Subtle notes of dark chocolate, fig and roast. But thatís it. There is no real blend of anything else. The burnt malt is really all I taste. 93 beers left before retirement.

Pitch black pour. Brown head, not much retention, no lacing. Aroma mostly bourbon with some chocolate. Definitely thin on the body. Flavor tasted off to me. Neither the chocolate or the bourbon was very prominent. Keeping hitting on an unpleasant burnt taste. Overall just didnít come together for me.

Simply delicious!! Very dark, very chocolaty, taste of bourbon--very well done. Vanilla. Mix it all together and it is one of the best stouts that I have had in a very long time! If you can get it--do so--I highly recommend it!

Strong taste. Great for drinking alone. May be hard to pair food with especially off cask. But if you are looking to just drink something, itís GREAT!

Pours viscous, pitch black and completely opaque with a two finger, light beige head that very slowly settles into a thick lasting ring. Very good retention, especially for the style and ABV. Takes a while to settle, leaving streaks of soapy lacing in itís path. Inviting aroma with a strong chocolate/cocoa presence and a subtle bourbon barrel character thatís nicely integrated into the notes of the base beer. Some damp earth and toasted oak along with sweet and spicy bourbon, vanilla bean and toasted count but the wood and spirit notes arenít overpowering. Just the slightest bit of toothpick character and delicate bourbon followed by silky sweet chocolate, subtle roast and dark fruit. Hints of coffee bean, burnt toast and oatmeal but the sweeter, dessert-like notes really stand out. Iím picking up some bakerís chocolate, fudge, molasses and flourless chocolate cake. There could be a bit more bourbon/barrel presence for me but itís a nice change of pace to smell a bourbon barrel aged beer that isnít a complete booze bomb. On the fuller end of medium body with stronger bourbon barrel and roasted malt character than the nose suggests. Dry, bitter and nearly acrid with strong burnt wood and toothpick flavor. The oak us more prominent than expected but the bourbon presence is still subtle. Thereís some spicy, boozy sweetness but unfortunately, most of the silkier barrel notes found in the aroma are missing. Bourbon flavor isnít bad but itís somewhat weak and overpowered by the wood and heavy roast. The sweeter dessert-like chocolate notes seem to get lost a bit was well. The malts taste smoker and somewhat burnt with hints of charcoal, toast, bitter dark cacao, oatmeal and ash. Mist of the lighter chocolate sweetness is masked, only shoeing up toward the finish. Still, the high ABV is well masked and although it appeared harsh at first, this beer is relatively easy to drink. Decent but not something I would want to try again.

22 oz bottle served in a Porter Bar goblet at about 45F. Opaque and essentially black body with red-brown highlights at the edges. Weak head; only a few spots of lacing. Aroma: bourbon, wood, and chocolate, with hints of dark dried fruits, fruit cake, smoke and vanilla. Like the aroma, the flavor is lightly sweet, has some wood. vanilla and more bourbon. However, the bourbon barrel has less effect here, the chocolate is mostly hidden until the aftertaste, and thereís a solid dark roasted grain base. A bit boozy. Feel: smooth, full body seems a touch under carbonated. The 9.5% ABV is partially hidden but mostly evident; the

Bomber. 1-2 years old. Nose of dark chocolate, berries, dark fruit, and light bourbon. Dark brown color with a dark tan head. Smooth chocolate initial, bourbon emerges immediatley and is very well blended, thick dark fruit, and good chocolate, nutty finish. Some alc. warmth. Medium heavy body and very creamy. Smooth and delicious. Not a barrel bomb. More delicate and well blended than most barrel stouts. Love it.
