This year’s Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout has been revamped. We’ve aged it for three weeks in bourbon barrels, which gives the beer darker notes of raisin and fig. We’ve also tripled the amount of chocolate nibs and added vanilla bean. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolatey—but without being extraordinarily sweet. Mt. Hood hops contribute a fruity hop profile, with notes of black currant.

A very nice beer. Sweet vanilla chocolate come through. Bourbon does not. Wish they would let it sit for about 6 months. Nice aroma I would like a bit more chocolate. I may buy another bottle and let it sit. Nice chocolate beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A very tasty brew best for the cold weather. Pours a dark brown with a very thin head. The aroma is the weak link, just a bit if chocolate and some bread. The flavor however has chocolate, vanilla, some dark fruits and grain. It is a think beer made for sipping.

This is one sweet treat! Chocolate comes through more than the bourbon so I’d classify this as a true dessert beer. For a bourbon stout this good it is a must buy at this price point.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a fairly opaque dark chocolate with foamy beige head. Smells of chocolate, dark malt, vanilla, and light bourbon and fig. Tastes like it smells, but more chocolate! Nice and smooth on the palate. Great stuff.

Draft at Lavomatic. Pours a deep brown with a small khaki head that lasts as a ring. Plenty of dark and milk chocolate, dark fruits (berries, figs, dates), vanilla, oak, and molasses. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a really smooth mouthfeel. Doesn’t show a ton of bourbon barrel character, which I guess is a result of the short barrel aging. Good imperial stout.

Cask at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours dark brownish black with about a finger of tan head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, toffee, bourbon. Tasting notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, bourbon, light dark fruit. Kind of like a liquid Devil’s food cake. Medium-light body (possibly lighter than usual due to the cask version) with a semi-dry finish. Pretty smooth.
