COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This year’s Siren Noire Imperial Chocolate Stout has been revamped. We’ve aged it for three weeks in bourbon barrels, which gives the beer darker notes of raisin and fig. We’ve also tripled the amount of chocolate nibs and added vanilla bean. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolatey—but without being extraordinarily sweet. Mt. Hood hops contribute a fruity hop profile, with notes of black currant.

Excellent bourbon aged cask beer... Bourbon not too overpowering... Hints of vanilla.

Just what you want in an imperial stout. Rich dark chocolate color, smooth and smoky forward palate and enough residual sugars to soften 9.5%ABV finish. You have to work at it to keep from downing it too fast. Added to my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Boubony cocoa scent. Nice head dark black color. Toasty cocoa coffee notes with a nice Bourbony finish. Like silk on the palate. Delicious....ted if you get this were hanging at jims later.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 22 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 9.5% and there is a short description of the beer as well. Appearance: The body has a very dark brown, motor oil like pour. In the glass it looks black as night and opaque with a small tan head. It?s head holds on well and makes lots of nice slick lacing on the glass. Smell: In the nose I get notes of chocolate, caramel, fresh baked bread, molasses and raison.Taste / Palate: The flavor brings all of the wonderful notes from its aroma to the tongue on a big full and smooth palate. In the background there is a very light sweetness and mellow vanilla undertone.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2014 I love this beer. 8oz from tap. Pitch black color with a thin light brown head. Tastes like coffee and chocolate with a thick smooth mouth feel.

(Bottled as part of the Uncharted Water series) The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted notes, with no noticeable bourbon. There is a touch of vanilla and oak. Pours an opaque black with a creamy dark tan head. Sweet, with milk chocolate and dark fruits. The bourbon bite comes out a little bit in the finish, much more subdued then some bourbon barrel aged beers. The finish lingers with bourbon notes as well as roasted notes. I’ll definitely be picking up more of this.

Overall though this is a damn fine barrel aged stout. I’ve seen this on the shelves locally and at $9 or so bucks for the bomber its a damn good purchase. Very well executed.

Cask at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours dark brownish black with about a finger of tan head. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, toffee, bourbon. Tasting notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, bourbon, light dark fruit. Kind of like a liquid Devil’s food cake. Medium-light body (possibly lighter than usual due to the cask version) with a semi-dry finish. Pretty smooth.

Bottle. Black with tan head. Aroma of coconut, vanilla and chocolate. Taste of intense chocolate, vanilla and coconut. Sweet with a touch of alcohol. Delish.

Full bodied rich with only a slight chocolate hint. Leaves a good after taste not overwhelming. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
