Style: Über Pils ABV: 7% IBUs: 35 Availability: Year-round Hops: Warrior, Palisade, French Strisselspalt, Saaz, Simcoe, Cascade Malts: 2-row, Munich, Caramalt Arguably our most well-balanced beer, Small Craft Warning seems at once hop-forward and malt-forward; our brewers debate over which flavor force prevails in the beer. Small Craft exemplifies a robust pilsner—it’s crisp, well-carbonated, and slightly sweet. The beer is characterized by a firm malt backbone and a pronounced hop character. A fine aroma, from an array of hops, completes this quaffable beer.

Drought at International Great Beer Expo (Meadowlands). Rich yellow color, white foamy small head, slight hops aroma, crispy medium body, high carbonation, a bit yeasty taste, hoppy long finish.

Aromas of honey and citrus. Tastes sweet with a subtle bitter note, like orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Not a bad pilsner.

On tap 5 oz. sample at Judges' Bench in Ellicott City, MD. Clear, golden amber with an off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of orange, bread, honey and caramel. Taste of light fruit, toffee, citrus, grain and pilsener malt. Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation. If the goal was a more intense version of a crisp pilsener, I don't think this succeeded. While it is a quite quaffable brew, it comes across more like a grainy barleywine than a big pils. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2013 On draft. Bright gold color. No discernable aroma. No discernable hop profile either, or any other particular flavor. Just tastes wet. Kind of oddly flat... maybe a tap-line issue?

Had on tap at Heavy Seas Alehouse. Somewhat more amber than most pils. Very thin head. Somewhat malty and sweet. Alcohol doesn't overpower. Pretty nice.

Deep golden color (for a pilsner). Light citrus aroma, lemony-grapefruit bitter/sweet finish. I don’t often drink a pilsner, this one I liked a lot.

Draft at Baggataway. Pours a hazy deep gold with thin white head and thick rings of lace. Nose of grass, honey, hay. Medium body. A bit hot with a bitter finish

pours a dark gold color with little to no head. Aroma of toffee and alcohol. Strange taste for a lager. Should be labeled a barleywine to be more accurate to the taste.

On tap @ C.B. Huntington’s (Bayville NJ). Pours a clear golden color with a thin foamy white head. Aroma of light citrus, and grain. Taste of citrus, orange skins, honey, lemon, earthy hops, and a metallic aftertaste.
