3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Medium gold, fading head. Nice aroma full of grain and grassy hops. Nice body, bit of sweetness from malts. Touch of an anise laden medicinal character, but finishes with a burst of floral hop and hay notes. Very well done, a really good beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours yellow, with aromas of citrus and flowers. Taste is also citrus and flowers, with a medium body. An interesting pilsner, bordering on an IPA.
Thanks to btg for this one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle pours a slightly hazy dark straw, small but firm white head, nice lacing, with copious amounts of carbonation.   A light straw & floral scent.   Forwardly malty, with a slight alcoholic backbone.   A tad bit of cereal and grains from start to finish, with a hop kick nearing the end.   Finishes clean, with a slightly hoppy aftertaste.   Body is nice and thick.   Enjoyable, albeit interesting.   Thanks goes out to jeffc666 for the trade!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I was skeptical when I received this bonus brew from btg in a trade. Pilsner?? Not really my style. But this was quite good. The best pilsner I’ve had to date. A lot of hop in the flavor. Underlying malt and something else I can’t describe. I’d buy this if they sold it around here.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This imperial pilsner pours with a clear golden body topped by a medium thick white head with decent lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet bitter and slightly peppery with an underlying grass note. Nice. The flavor is slightly sweet but mostly bitter with a slightly grassy hop note and a little pepper in the finish. Not as full of flavor as I expected. medium bodied, slightly warming and dry.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: SEP 20, 2004 Unfiltered dull gold. Fluffy, clingy, white foam laces the glass. Vibrantly airy, zesty hop aroma laced with glazed pilsner malt, grass, melon, and lemon cake. Nutty yeast hints. Zippy carbonation. Fluffy and spacious. Moderate alcohol in the flavor is softened by doughy pilsner malts and a tasty snap of Tettnang hops. Becomes more balanced toward the core with an understated pilsner malt display. Seltzer quality periodically returns to revive the bright hop flavors. Lime zest climaxes toward the finish, beautifully quelling the sweet malts. Finish is moistly dry, and highlights the lemongrass as tasty pilsner malts and fresh lemon cake continually exude underneath. Delectable pils.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours with a large head that fades to a thin white disc. Aroma is grassy and lightly malty. Flavor is buttery malt with grassy hops. Full body. Would match nice with foods that would drowned out standard pilsners.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a translucent amber. Small white head on this one. Aroma is a little light but predominantly European hops and sweet malts. Taste is more of the European hop chracter along with some spice and malt. There’s almost a candy like flavor to the sweetness. Although predominanly a pilsener, I can see how this is split with a bock due to the malts and sweetness underlying the hops. Mouthfeel is a little chewy. Finish is sweet with lighter spice and hops. Good beer! Sort of like the Dominion Spring Brew (Imperial Pilsener) gone sweeter.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Holy crap- this stuff doesnt taste like it is anywhere near 7%. I just assumed it was about 5% when I had it, but I guess now that I think about it- it was a little sweeter and thicker than most pilsners. It is balanced really well with some earthy and spicy hops. Relativey pale straw in color, but not as pale as prima or sunshine or hop pocket. Moderately clear and was bottle conditioned which is a plus in my oppinion- this is probably why it wasnt as clear as the others, even when poured slowly. The head was moderately frothy, and lasted through most of the beer. Flavor is dominated by sweet smooth malts that are well rounded. There is also a formidable amount of hops that are slightly tart, yet mostly earthy and spicy. My roommates and I were so impressed with this beer in bottles, that we are going to get a 1/6th keg to celebrate the end of classes next weekend.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden with big off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, sharp herbal. Taste is medium sweet, sharp herbal, some lemon, some caramel, some pepper. Medium body, strange in that it seems partly crisp, partly sticky.
