Our "winter warmer" ale, brewed with copious helpings of English malts and US and English hops, a ruddy hued "Imperial ESB" in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering, firm hop bitterness. Seasonally available from mid October to February.

Cloudy red colour, white head with nice lacing. Bitter hoppy aroma. Very bitter taste with a hint of caramel, but lord, is it bitter.

Transparent and magnifying amber-mahogany in color with a booming, dense tan head thats audibly fizzing to boast its fluffiness to anyone wholl listen. Green hops come flying out the gate, pursued by pumpernickel, caraway seeds, cleansing pine and pollination everywhere. Light caramel and dryer sheets make a late aromatic entrance, confounded by a unique element of nutty pipe cleaners. Flavor comes crashing down with a lick of stainless steel to hustle away every other flavor precursor. Looking back, were dealing with mulberry, pine and cedar bark for earthy intonations and chloraseptic caramel lozenges for sweetening. Theres a grassy quality as well, but its layered with warped maple sugar and diluted caramel. Intimate and intimidated hints of cocoa and toffee. Effervescent and mouth feel are holistically wonderful, and Id like to give a nod to balance, but the unsavory metallic twang holds me back. Dry, pressing English toffee joins cedar sap and basement paneling before rounding out an aftertaste of pecans out of the ol aluminum tin. Thanks for the bottle, bstill!

Bottled. Via trade with DocLock. Best by Mar 06 (so Im assuming this is the 05). Pours a clear, garnet color with an ivory head. Fruity aroma- both citrus and some darker fruits, caramel, yeast and honey. Flavor is bitter with a thin mouth feel. A bit of caramel, toffee, and phenols in the flavor. Bitter finish.

Best before March 06, enjoyed on May 06. Pours a clear, dark amber with a medium sized, off-white head that fades to a loose collection of whisps. The aroma is citrus and pine, with a heathy dose of sweet caramels. The flavor is resinous pine, grapefruit, toffee and bready. Medium body with a bitter and soapy finish. Big flavor, relatively low ABV and highly quaffable, great job!!

Bottle courtesy of Springslicker. Poured a reddish brown with a tan head that quickly diminished. Aroma of spices, citrus, hops, and a light caramel background. The flavor found hops, grass, caramel, and spices. Medium body with a light bitterness. Nice!

Bottle sampled with stegosaurus. Pours orange\golden with a small white head. Aroma of citrus, sweet malts, and hops. Flavor is sweet, malty, carbonated, with a slight bitter hoppy finish. Good body, good brew.

A lovely brew. Well knit flavours reveal plenty of toffee and toast in the malt and a pretty nice dose of ESB bitterness. The colour is rich pretty brown matched with hints of coffee and and peppery spice. yum.

12 oz. bottle thanks to slob. Decent head on this dark amber pour. Aromas were very malty. Some spice and caramel. Some breadiness too. Flavors were quite bitter. More bitter than the expected ESB. Must be that USification we do to our beers on this side of the pond. NIce hoppy bite over the very malty middle. Good stuff. Thanks Bert.

A winner! Thanks Matt. A hoppy porter on steroids, if that makes any sense. Great spicy mix of cinnamon, nutmeg and citrus, among other notes. The swett malt takes over and drops off to a lingering grassy followup.

A medium sized frothy, off-white head rests above a slightly hazy red-brown hued beer. The hop aroma is balanced between citric/orange and floral/cedar notes. Caramel, nearly toffee, dark bread malts follow slightly behind. Smaller tones of medium-dark fruits (cherries, and the like). Despite significant malting, a firm, spicy bitterness rests on the front of the tongue. Late palate reveals more of the same, but with perhaps more acidity. Bit of alcohol on the swallow, as well. The body is on the bigger side of medium, has a slick texture, and lively carbonation. Personally, Id like to see the US hops 86d so a bit more malt would shine through with less of a cutting feeling.
