Our "winter warmer" ale, brewed with copious helpings of English malts and US and English hops, a ruddy hued "Imperial ESB" in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering, firm hop bitterness. Seasonally available from mid October to February.

12 oz bottle-pours a foamy light tan head that laces and copper color. Aroma is nice citrus-grapefruit and orange/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Taste is some alcohol, citrus-grapefruit and orange, metallic/herbal/pine hops, some tannins bitterness, secondary medium malt, some roasty. Slightly slick mouth fee. Taste doesn’t meet my expectations from the aroma, the (English) hops didn’t seem to quite stay ‘balanced’ on the jump to imperial ESB.

Bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours dark ruddy copper with an off-white smear. It smells quite malty, almost with a chocolate note. Not getting hop. Or maybe something herby/floral. Full bodied. Rather fresh roast caramel. A little sweet, but there’s a lot of hop. Floral mostly. A little thickish; a little sweetish; a lot hoppish. Yet it seems florally refreshing. Finishing very lightly sweet, but with a lot of hop. Unusual result.

Tap at Rattle n Hum way back when - NYC. Pours clear brown with a fine, off-white foam head. Lots of rich malts in here, caramel, ripe fruits, bread, modest earthy bitterness. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet and lightly warming to finish, further hefty malts, toasted caramel. Decent.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2005 Bottle... Hazy, orange ale with a small, frothy, off-white head. Floral aroma with huge pine and toffee and ultra light cocoa. Malty and citrusy flavor. Lightly sweet up front, followed by moderate bitterness and earthiness. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Lengthy, bitter, piney finish. Tongue numbing and soul warming! Definitely a different beer than last year’s Imperial IPA... not as complex, but definitely enjoyable!
