Our "winter warmer" ale, brewed with copious helpings of English malts and US and English hops, a ruddy hued "Imperial ESB" in style. Full malty flavors dancing with powerful hop aromas and a lingering, firm hop bitterness. Seasonally available from mid October to February.

Draft sample. Pours a light cola brown with a moderate head. Little hop aroma, some doughy bread on the nose. Smooth taste with your typical bitter ESB aftertaste. Pretty decent.

Filtered golden body with no head. The aroma is very malty with lemons and orange aroma from the hops. The flavor is also very malted.

Bottle. 12 fl. oz. Dark amber color with thick, creamy head. Strong malt aroma of candy or caramel. Very fresh. Medium body with a leathery mouthfeel. Flavor strongly resembles aroma with the exception of slight hoppy bitterness at the end. Alcohol is well hidden. Goes down real easy.

aroma- bready, dates, toffee, caramel, raisin, roasted malt, bittersweet orange peel hop. pours a woody red/amber with about 3/4 inch of head that recedes but doesnít go away, some lacing. taste is roasty malt with a grassy earthy bitter hop finish, bread, brown sugar, orange peel, some alcohol. palate is full bodied, some carbonation, smooth, bitter.

Poors a dirty brownish gold with a large foam head that is a off white color. Appears to be unfiltered. Smells of sweets hops, like itís loaded with them. There is also some citrus in the smells as well. Taste is a well balanced mix of malt and hop. These are the commanding elements but other aspects such as toffee and caramel kind of add to the malt. Mostly this just taste like a bitter ale. Itís good a good winter warmer type of beer I feel the 7.5%abv in my chest and not in my mouth. Dry malty finish, malt is quiet dark with notes of toffee.

Whatís an "Imperial ESB"? I donít know that, but this beer is very nicely bittersweet, kind of a floral caramel taste. Coppery color with a small creamy head, a slight bit of which persisted, leaving a small amount oc cream-colored lacing.

Pours a nice medium amber with red hue that has a nice head that laces and retains well. Nice light nose of biscuit malt with a touch of hops. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A nice balanced flavor of caramel malt sweetness and bitterness against a mild hop flavor, which I believe is East Kent Goldings. Finishes clean with malt sweetness followed by the bitters. My first sampling of Heavy Seas products, and this one outstanding. A nice change of pace for winter warmers that is expertly done.

Slight caramel aroma with a little hint of Sweet Tarts. Bitter on the tongue, with a decent malt background. A bit watery for an extreme beer, the mouth feel could be fuller. Not bad, but not special.
