Ungstrup (11713), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 11, 2007 Bottled. A slightly hazy deep red beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is very special with a mixture of cinnamon, violet, cloves, berries, and alcohol. The flavor is slightly acidic with strong notes of berries and spices as well as lighter notes of alcohol, wood, and metal. The acidity is very bret like. Papsoe (11076), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 26, 2006 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy, reddish brown with a yellowish head. Fantastic aroma of oak and vanilla. Medium-bodied with lightly sour accents and an edge of oak. Quite interesting. 240706 omhper (10950), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 14, 2006 Updated: Apr 5, 2006Bottled. Hazy reddish brown. Wonderful lactic acidity in the nose with vague notes of sour cherries. Light, rounded malt profile. There’s perfumy notes as well as rosehip. Unfortunately the promising aroma doesn’t really carry over into the flavour and it all fizzes out a bit quick. But what an aroma... Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 14, 2006 Dark amber colour. Very hazy. Slight oaky, cherryish, rodenbachy aroma. Very light body and restrained flavour. Hints of cherry. Not much backing the oak and cherry up (malt and mouthfeel I’m looking for) and even the most up-front flavours lack conviction. Oh well, you don’t always succeed every time you experiment. joergen (6821), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 25, 2006 Bottle.
Hazy orange brown coloured with a beige head.
Aroma of wood and horse blanket with acidic notes.
