hapjydeuce (622), Carlsbad, USA Sep 5, 2008 RBSG ’08 Grand Tasting at Pizza Port Carlsbad. Hazy brown color with average carbonation. Tan ring on the surface. I remember tasting a lot of cappuccino and a bit of tartness on the finish. Sweet palate with a silky mouthfeel. Very nice.
shigadeyo (1500), Southwest Ohio Area, Alabama, USA Nov 19, 2008 7/28/2007: Doug’s Colonial Ale is clear honey-amber in color. It has a long-lasting, dense, rocky head that is beige to light tan in color. Fruity malt, toast, and a hint of smoke can be found in the aroma. The flavor has roasted grains and malt. It is also nutty with some dry smoky character in the roasty, coffee-like finish. This medium-bodied beer is tingly on the palate (too much carbonation). Maybe it was served too cold? Overall this is a pretty solid beer despite the overcarbonation.

Sample from 750 mL bottle shared at the "Columbus Tasting: Ate, now with gramatical errors" event. Thanks! Rating #76 for this beer...
fordest (1857), Santee/San Diego, California, USA Nov 18, 2008 750 ml bottle shared at toncathers house. Touches of chocolate and nuts of this aroma. Some coffee and more nutty chocolate on the flavor, but still a brown ale. Not a favorite of mine. Vac (2274), San Diego, California, USA Aug 7, 2008 Bottle sampled at RBSG ’08. Pours with a cloudy, deep golden body topped by a thick ehad with some lacing left behind. It’s slightly sweet with roassty and smokey notes as well as a touch of hops. Kind fo reminds me of a stout with it’s flavor profile. Medium bodied and smooth. wetherel (1151), Encinitas, California, USA Aug 3, 2008 Tons of coffee in the aroma. It’s one of the best coffee aromas ever. Not bitter or roasty or burnt, but more creamy, like a cappucino or coffee ice cream. Flavor is dry and not that interesting though. Excellent nonetheless
