COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

On Tap at the Blind Tiger Ale House, NYC: This Belgian style ale pours a hazy golden color with a nice sized, white head. The head does not linger long but still leaves nice lacings on the glass. The aroma is sweet and spicy with a touch of coriander and exotic fruits. It has a medium body with moderate carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is sweet with apricots and white grapes, and spicy with coriander. The finish is long, sweet, and a bit malty. This was a very nice version of a Belgian ale.

Draft at the Grey Lodge in Phila. Nice version of the style. Good flavor with a slight hint of hops.

Produces a mild blonde character, not quite hefe in its aroma. A pleasing effect in many dimensions, though the candles on the brewer's stand also made my nose confused. Still, good. (on tap, Pennsylvania Microbrewers Fest 2003)

Nice classic taste of a belgian ale. Very smooth taste with a fruit undertone.

Slightly cloudy golden with a sweet Belgian yeast aroma. Flavor is an interesting mix of green apple candy and sour malt. A pretty decent American made Belgian ale.

Not bad at all. The thing with this Belgian is that there are SOOOOO many better ones out there. Still, hints of spice with a nice sweet undertone. reddish brown in color, nice aftertaste

very, very citrusy beer. my first impression was that this could be a fruit beer. the belgian flavors later presented themselves, but citrus was by far the most present.

Hazy yellow. Belgian characteristics present; fruits, slightly tangy. Not as crisp as other triples I have had.

Nice golden color, with a white head that did not last long, and mild carbonation. The coriander was detected upon the first sip, but it was not strong, I could not notice any fruit flavor in my bottle. Bottom line this stuff was just pretty average.

A fantastic golden honey colored brew with a big yeasty nose. Hints of apricots. Medium bodied with a lot of sweetness. Spicy with clove being dominant. Some banana notes also. A nice example of American "Belgians", right up there with New Belgiums Tripel in my opinion.
