3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - JAN 1, 2004
Bottled. Minimal head for Belgian-style, pretty bright golden color. Nose yeasty, spicy, sweet, perfumy, bit wheaty, very fresh. Flavor nicely balanced sweet/sour, banana-wheat-coriander presence, smooth, pleasant, nothing extraordinary. Full body.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chronictonic (434) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2003
The first few times I've had this beer the dominat flavor has been band-aids. This time (on tap) it was much more as it should be. Slightly hazy golden color - no head at all. Aroma is of sugar with coriander notes along with a wheat malt aroma. Flavor is similar to the aroma except fruit flavors are more prevalent. Finish is crisp, dry and spicy.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jgb9348 (3371) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - DEC 22, 2003
Very hazy golden coloured body with strong orange tints. Absolutely no head...died down VERY quickly. Aroma of peaches, wheat, yeast and coriander seed. Full-bodied; Initial lemony twang then unfolds into a yeastie presence. Very dry finish, almost nothing but coriander seed freshness. Overall, this one is definately different than the standard Tripel, and if you are in the mood for a different styled belgie...try this! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Chevy Chase Wine & Liquor in Washington, D.C. and sampled it on 22-December-2003.

Slightly cloudy, yellow brew. Slight fruity/Belgian like nose. Full malt flavor, with a dry, wheat beer like palate, and a big alcohol zip. Very drinkable.

Pretty thin looking, golden orange liquid. Very little head. Good spicey aroma. Easy drinking with a nice crisp full flavored finish.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 28, 2003
Hazy orange. Good head whilst pouring - but gone in seconds. Overpowering coriander smell, nearly souplike. If Westcoast Imperial Pale Ale has an absolute overdose of American hops, this has a similar overdose of coriander - on the point of making it undrinkable. There is some carbonation but the whole beer gives a flat, unattenuated impression all the same. OK, I understand. Belgian brewers do use a lot of coriander - many times way too much. And in the best American style of "more is better", they dosed it accordingly. Ohmygod.

bottle. yeasty and alcohol taste. burns all the way down. also has a spicy/nutmeg taste
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ukoolaid (572) - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA - NOV 26, 2003
On tap. Golden color. Unimpressive aroma. It's kinda wheaty, but it's kinda "blah". It is fairly crisp and refreshing. I think my problem is that it claims to be a belgian ale, and it just doesn't live up to other Belgians.
