COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lunacy is brewed exclusively with Belgian Pilsner malt, Styrian and English Goldings hops and freshly ground coriander. It begins its life with a long patient boil and is cast into the fermenter at 17.5 P. It then undergoes a vigorous fermentation and extended cold conditioning. After bottling, the beer receives an additional 2 week warm rest before it is released. This yields a surprisingly refreshing brew with spicy notes, sweet malt and subtle fruit.

Bright orange color with a thin white spotty head. Aroma is huge and powerful. Coriander and spice. Flavor is rough. Over-spiced and rough. I’m not a fan.

hazy orange pour with a medium off white head. Skunky DMS aroma. Dry, peppery, skunky. Hops heavy to finish. Not very sweet, not yeastly, no coriander or other traditional Belgian Ale flavors or aromas. Bleh -

Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 1/27/2008 Pittsburgh ratebeer.com gathering and festival upstairs, Sharp Edge Creekhouse. It will be a long time, if ever I am invited again and I see a spread of bottles like I did there - ever again. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we sampled! For example, how about this beer, from the manager himself, mtoast. Smells a little sweet and fruity, somewhat like wine at times. Slightly hazy pale yellow with decent lacing. Barely any carbonation. Fairly strong with alky but it seem to have less than the 7.7% listed here. Overall rather strong, shows confidence in it’s personality. After a while this stuff really gets to the back of the throat, in a good way of course.

12 oz. bottle from Shoreline drank on 8/10/06. Total Gusher! (My first ever) Gushed for a good 5 min. until I finally poured it. Cloudy golden yellow orange. Huge 3" creamy white head. Huge foam sticks around. Huge lacing. Aroma - Avg. strength, low for a Belgian Golden. Bananas, a little cloves, a little yeast and spice, sweet. Almost a little tangy. Flavor - most likely an infected brew. Doesn’t taste horrible, but it is definitely off. Avg. up front bitterness. On the tongue it’s a little bit sour. Really dry and almost metallic finish. Palate - light, almost watery. Very high carb. Overall - seems like it could be a good beer, but this one is definitely infected. Tastes completely off. Sour, dry, not sweet at all - no banana, cloves, spice, or yeast flavor.

Thought this was alright when I first started, a partying American Belgian in my mouth. But then the party got to the middle stages, and the guests got pretty offensive. Had to turn away the rest of their friends that tried to crash the door.

Dissapointing local beligan style microbrew. Sour apple bomb. Hits you strong, sour, lacks a smooth finish. smells a bit like orange pee, if oranges could pee. A mediocre brew from jersey. Haven’t liked one beer from this brewery yet. they’ve all got some nasty kind of hops in them. And this bottle had some mucky lookin crap that didn’t look too natural in the bottom. Had to get help drinking and ended up pouring some down the drain.
